Twitter & Kindle

Okay so Kindle has this awesome connect to social network setting and I've decided to document my 50 books in one year journey.

When I read I like to highlight, underline and ear mark (drives DH crazy, he's the kind if reader that dislikes a crease in the binding) I however believe books are meant to be read, and creased and marked. I also have a habit of re-reading my favorites. I think it is so neat reading a copy of Fahrenheit 451 that I've had since HS and seeing marks in certain passages. It makes me wonder what I was thinking when I read that passage at that moment and why was it so important to me?

Kindle also has this awesome highlight feature. You can highlight a passage and share. So I've decided I'll be highlight and sharing my reading experience!

Anywho.... I've never twittered before so I may not totally know what I'm doing... But if you'd like to follow here's my username:

Do any of you use this on Kindle?

Are any of you highlighters and re-readers?

That's a really great idea!

I loved and used twitter for a while but fell off the wagon some time ago.  I think it's because there was too much repetitive info.  Some users like to say the same thing on facebook and twitter, which irritated the heck of me haha!  And there was a lot of spammer.  But if I were still using twitter, I think your idea is excellent!

I haven't used kindle for a while either.  With the new addition of the family I simply don't have time to sit down and read anymore.  Therefore I only listen to audible books right now. Audible makes it impossible to re-listen selective paragraphs or to bookmark. I vow to go back to paper or ebook when my son is older, because I want to bookmark passages like you said.  I remember one feature on kindle that's fun - see what other people highlighted in the book.  It's always interesting to know what others like about a particular book.

Can you share highlights on tumblr or other blogging services?  I'd love to be able to see my highlights not via links, but the whole text that I highlighted.

That is an awesome feature.  Would be great to share passages to fellow book club members so that they it can be a point of discussion fr the meeting.  I would just make sure the highlighted passages doesn't give the book away.

But I like yelp's idea too, to see the entire texts rather than a link to the highlight.
