I hear ya - I have no self-control at all. I'll start "eating healthy" on a Monday morning and by noon I'll have consumed every snack food available. Ugh!

I had no self control last Friday:

  1. Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges with Sour Cream (for breakfast)

  2. Meatloaf, Mash Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn from Cracker Barrel

  3. Chick-fil-a nuggets and Waffle fries

I'm sure that there's more... I just can't remember the amount of food that I ate. Oh yeah ribs too. See I knew that there was more, unacceptable!

I feel so guilty I forgot the Sourdough Jack with Extra Bacon... I'm off to the gym tonight just for remembering!

it is easy, cause your are starving and also  banning food,  when we ban a food item it becomes more attractive, it becomes something we wont but we cant have  and when we can we eat alot of it.

For example, I cant have white chocolate, never liked white chocolate before but now when I cant have it, I long for it, I really want just one piece, but due to medical reason I cant.

Just makes sure to eat 5 times aday on set times and this will not happen  and also move your body,   but remember to feed it according to the exercise you are doing.

Oh and feeling quilt over food is the first step to an eating dissorder.

Instead  let your self indulge once in a while, know that on saturday you can have pizza and a chocolate bar and look forward to those moments.

I am overweight, not going to shed a pound for the wedding cause my guy loves me for who I am, not how much I can slim down.

People only sees the fault you  point out to them, a bright smile, healthy sparkling eyes  and a good laugh is much better then a starved size zero body.

I'm FINALLY getting my self control back...but we'll see how long it lasts...if I was presented with a pasta bar I would probably lose control too!  :)

No no no..... a pasta bar is a rare indulgent, stop putting quilt with food.

Trust me, you do not want the hell of an eating disorder!

Food should never ever be put with quilt, it should be enjoyed and even a carrot and cucumber salad can be enjoyed.

You cannot change your habits in a snap, if it is too much of a change the brain will revolt.

So start easy,  have a salad with every meal instead  and eat  whole wheat bread instead of wonderbread.

Remember it takes 28 days to change a habit and it takes 28 days to keep a habit.

miss_em....for the record I don't think you have an eating disorder or are on the verge of having one! You ate a little pasta and felt guilty....no biggie! I think we've all been there! :)

@Mau - um...that's pretty presumptuous to say that someone has an eating disorder or that they're starving themselve just b/c they went to the pasta bar and wished they hadn't. miss_em2010 simply vented for fun and frustration - I'm pretty d*mn sure she doesn't have an eating disorder.

lol....thanks girls...no, I definitely don't have an eating disorder (ironic that I am typing this seeing as I am stuffing my face with fish and chips...lol).

Nor am I starving or banning food.

And I am fully educated on how to eat healthily.

Just as some ppl are comfortable with being overweight, I am comfortable being the weight I am, and that means maintaining it. Not that I am a size 0 but I'm not interested in gaining 20 plus pounds. Therefore, when I make a solid attempt to lose some of the gain I had over the past month or so, I am mad at myself for not being disciplined enough to choose a less healthy option over something that would be equally satisfying but maybe not *quite* as delicious as pasta. it's not feeling guilty about food...it's guilty about not sticking with my own plan....the difference is at opposite ends of the spectrum.

It's not really that big of a deal mau....lol!! i'm fine.

No I said that if you connect food with quilt, that the start and if you keep adding the quilt you will end up with problem.

I am just so tired that food,  is such a quilt ridden topic, people   are scared of everything.

Mind you all, I been an OP  on a few food forums, I have teached people how to cook and I seen people  cry cause the had a  banana cause t o much fat.

I also gotten asked how much calories water has.

But that's nothing like what miss_em said.  She didn't freak out over the calories in a banana or water.  She just said she frustrated with herself because she overindulged at a pasta bar.  I think that's a pretty normal comment, not a red flag of an eating disorder.
