Spring/Summer 2012 Baby Bumps!

up all night going to the bathroom

The last two nights I have been up every few hours to go pee. I stop drinking water before 8:00pm and it doens't help. It seems I always start on my side, end up on my back, and wake up in huge amounts of pain needing to pee. I am only 33 weeks. I was wondering if there is anything you ladies can suggest to help me get through the next two months?!

Oh do I feel your pain!!! I'm 31 weeks and dealing with the very same issue.  I wake up at minimum of 2 times a night feeling like I REALLY need to pee only to be rewarded with a *tinkle tinkle*....I've asked my Dr about this and she said it's pretty much par for the course and I'm also carrying low which doesn't help.  Aside from reducing fluid consumption at night there's not much you can do.

I just said to my husband the other night "Of all the things I miss, I miss my full sized bladder the most!"

Seriously one of the worst parts about pregnancy. Not only would I wake up like 4 times a night I would also pee like three times within a minute.

Yep, all I can do is sympathize. I had a slight increase in frequency in the beginning of the pregnancy, but now that I am 29 weeks it is a whooolle lot more. Very annoying! I do make sure I go because, I believe it was Victoria, who had an over-extended bladder for holding it at night.

I have found this makes it more bearable, in the evening I go to the bathroom every advert break for 45 mins before bedtime even if feel don't need it. When there I rock backwards and forwards till find the spot baby is off bladder for maximum flow, this enables full emptying. I am 37 weeks and only need to get up once per night for the bathroom and occasionally not at all!!!!! I have to add I still wake up due to pain in my hips and turning over, oh well!!! Hope it helps for you H x

Same here. I'm almost 35 weeks and it seems like I am using the restroom at night every 2 hours.  I guess I can forget about sleeping or having a good night's rest from this point on:(

Hmmm, I wish I could say it will get better but...... at 39 weeks now, me and my toilet spend more time together at night than me and my husband!

The only cure for this is delivering the baby. Then you'll be waking up every two hours to feed him/her instead. Just consider it as your body preparing itself for the sleepless nights ahead.
