Can you get a 3rd party to check you out? I know you don't want to spend the $, but I think if you don't, you will get a surprise.

I would just wait until you had the little gaffer. That is the only way to know for certain.

Odds are it's a boy. Whenever there's a mis-read ultrasound it's almost always a boy when the tech says girl. It's extremely rare for it to be the other way around. When a tech says girl, there's always a possibility that it's a boy and he wasn't realy obvious at showing the goods.

And no tech should be saying 100% on gender at only 17 weeks. Many won't even make a guess before 20 weeks.

Post photos from your ultrasound and we can all include our opinions.

Can you post the picture of your ultrasounds? Since a lot of us have very recently gotten one (are in that phase) we might be able to take an educated guess.
Personally, I would go with what your OB office says. 17 weeks is early and most places cannot definitvely say one way or the other. All they can do is give you a best guess...
20 weeks is more likely to be accurate and if the OB said boy at that many weeks then that seems more likely. either way you're having a baby!

Looks girly to me but I'd wait and see. It's a little early.

I agree that your LO is looking more like a girl as of right now. Wait a bit longer and then go back for a re-check.

That looks like a girl to me. When I went for my 20 week u/s with my son, it was VERY clear that he was a boy.

I went back and it is a girl. I am excited now and over the shock. They even looked at her first ultrasound where they called her a girl and said her labie was just very pronounced. We are over the scock and excited for our baby girl. I think we are naming her Brylee.

My doc won't even do a gender ultrasound until 20 weeks.  At that far along in the pregnancy, gender ultrasounds are 90% accurate.  Before then, it's still quite a toss up.  Have you thought about getting a 3D ultrasound down the road?  That would be even more accurate and you'd definitely be able to tell at that point.  Plus, they're so awesome and you get to see the definition of the baby's face!  :)
