Update on me so far...

Hi ladies. Well, as a lot of you may know I've been having issues with spotting in this pregnancy since Christmas Day. Brief background... October 11, 2012 I found out I was pregnant and started to have a miscarriage the following Tuesday. December 19, 2012 I found out I was pregnant again and began spotting on Christmas Day and it continued until this past Friday when it turned into full on bleeding again. I did finally talk to my mom about everything a few weeks ago bc I couldn't take keeping this a secret anymore. I guess I was just waiting t hopefully confirm good news, but it just got worse. The process of getting my insurance in order has been an ordeal as well. My original appilcation from over a month ago was somehow lost and I had to start all over so I'm STILL waiting to get into a doctor. I wish I could've gone sooner to have more information as this was progressing, but I also know there would've been nothing they could've done. Now I feel like I have a new set if worries: why did this happened again (from what I've heard it's very uncommon to have 2 in a row; I did have one normal cycle between the 2 pregnancies as well), is there an underlying problem besides just "bad luck?" and if so, will I have to wait and see if this happens again before I can get tests done to find the cause? I'm so sad too that now I feel like anytime I get pregnant I will not be able to happily announce it to our friends and family. I'll be terrified the whole time.  I don't know how may more times I can go through this. So my problem apparenty is not getting pregnant, it's staying pregnant. Of course, literally in the last few weeks I've had 4 friends come out and say they're pregnant (all due around the time I would've been). Sigh...

I am so sorry that you are going through this =(  Am I to understand you have had no tests at all?  Not even after your first m/c?  It is possible that perhaps you just need a progesterone supplement, but without tests there is no way to know.  Thyroid problems can also contribute to problems, but it is more likely that if you already had a problem you would not be getting pregnant.

If I were you, I'd go to a doctor now and bill it back to the insurance - your health is too important to let this go, IMO.  You should be seen to make sure you don't get a secondary infection as well.

*HUGS*

Thank you. Yes, aside from the confirmed urine test January 2nd I have not had any bloodwork done. Basically, the screw up with the insurance (somehow attaching someone else's paperwork to mine.. How does that happen???) so I had to start all over and it set me back like a month. I could not get in to the doctor without being able to either give them insurance info or pay $1300 up front just to get in. I was worried about just going to the ER bc I basically figured they'd just confirm "Yes, this is what's going on. We can't do anything for you." so I was waiting (aka stalking the insurance company daily) to get that in order so I could get into my ob asap. The weird thing is is I've never had any real health issues, never been on any form of bc, never been pregnant (that I kew of) before these 2, so I have no idea what would have caused this. I know it's common for many women to experience 1 mc, but 2 in a row? Claire, that's what I was thinking too about the progesterone that many my level just never got high enough (maybe also contributing to the lack of symptoms and spotting)? It just sucks not being able to have anything to refer back too, numberwise. After the first mc, it was basically like a normal af, never would've known had I not taken the test and I went on the have a regualr cycle in November so I assume everything was fine after that. No signs of infections or sickness or anything. I'm still persuing to get into an ob not just a general in ER to hopefully get more answers soon.

Wow - healthcare is screwed up!

I would see your OB as soon as you get the insurance thing straigtened out.  I would even make a big deal with the office when you call so you don't get pushed out for an appointment - make them see you!  Give your dr your history and if he/she gives you the go-ahead to get pregnant again right away then I would ask that you do lots of tests after you get your BFP to verify everything is working hormonally.  My OB tested my progesterone with my annual blood work (liver, thyroid, kidney, cholesterol) etc. and was happy with the level post O, so maybe even before you get a BFP you can ask that they check your level so you know sooner rather than later?  Sorry if this is disjointed, I'm still exhausted with the puppies so I'm mostly thinking out loud =)

Hang in there, and if you get a fever without any other symptoms of being sick, GO TO THE ER - just be safe!  Sorry, I'm worried about you having been bleeding for so long =(

I just want to know what the deal is! How many times is one person supposed to go through this?? Jeez. Good luck with the puppies! :)
