UPDATE: Sorry I've been MIA

I haven't been on here at all since this... http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/pretty-sure-i-m-m-c

So the 18th, I had been bleeding for a couple days at that point and I got home from clinicals and was leaving for work, and I just figured I should call the clinic where I had the appointment set up for that following Monday to confirm my (4!) BFPs to see what they'd say if I should wait to come in or not. When I told them what was going on they said to come in right away... Well, I got there and tey told me they didn't have the equipment to do an ultrasound and sent me to the ER instead. I called DH to come meet me there (he was at work). When I told them what was going on they had me take a urine test to confirm. The test came back negative and they sounded like they thought it may have been a FP, but I told them I had 4 BFP all different brands on different days and once the spotting started within a couple hours I could literally feel my pregnancy symptoms fading away (my boobs were no longer sore and swollen). I also took another test after the spotting started and the line took longer to show up and was more faded. I thought maybe that meant it was still detecting hcg levels but not as high (this was hte night before ER). After telling them about the 4 BFP they did a blood test and it was POSITVE! I knew I wasn't crazy, but the MD explained urine tests only detect hcg levels at least 50, blood detects the levels if there are any at all and mine were only 40. So it was positive, but not enough anymore to be picked up in a urine test. So anyway, that was my day a couple weeks ago. It all just happened so fast! We hadn't told anyone yet and were still wrapping our heads around it, and then it was gone so fast. :(

I've also heard of women being very fertile immediately after a MC, and I was worried about when my cycle would be back to normal so I started using my OPK after the bleeding completely stopped and surprisingly, I got a positive OPK on my 16th cycle day! I read somewhere that if you miscarry, you should count the first day of the bleeding as "AF". Not sure if this is true or not, but I did just to give me a timeframe idea and I got the positive C16, so who knows, but I'm thankful it seemed back to normal so soon... Not that my cycles are always consistent though. Before my BFP, I had cycles that varied from 30-41 days long! Sorry so long, jsut thought I'd share what ended up being the outcome.

Also, after the blood test they then wanted to do an external and internal ultrasound to make sure it was not an ectopic pregnacy... They said there was nothing showing up in the uterus. I had tried to basically prepare myself before I went that they'd tell me it was a MC, but it was still hard knowing it had been positive. Fortunately, at least that meant there was nothing left that would cause complications.

Oh Lex, thanks for your update. I'm so so sorry for your loss. Hope your now on the mend regarding the M/C. But also what great news that your cycle came back to normal so soon. Would love if you join the TTC group here on PW. There are a lots of lovely Ladies who are so helpful and nice. From that what I read on the TTC threads, the doc's said you have to wait till 3 month after a M/C so try again.

Hope this helps and lots of baby dust to you and FX for a soon BFP!!!! :)

So sorry for your loss :( I had a chemical pregnancy last August -I had a bfp for two days then started to bleed (fairly heavily) and tested again -it was a bfn :( because it happened so early into the pregnancy (if we hadn't been trying, I probably would have mistaken the bleeding for AF,) we started trying again right away -and I got pregnant again in October :) so it took one cycle in between to get my sticky bfp and we now have 4 month old Megan. Hoping it happens quickly again for you!

Thanks so much for the support, ladies. It helps to know there are others that have gone through the same thing, no matter how early it was in the pregnancy, you still had that hope and excitement nonetheless. It's better now, but it was especially hard since we hadn't told anyone, so I had nobody else to talk to about it except DH, but it's different for men when it's not actually happening to them. Although he's be very supportive. It's very encouraging, too, that you can have luck again soon after! :) I hope it doesn't take forever. I know I will be extra nervous now, too.

So sorry for your loss.  DH and I lost our first LO at 9w2d.  It's never easy no matter when it happens.  We finally just got our 2nd BFP after 7 cycles of trying.  It'll happen, just give it time!
