Updates: New Doc And New Meds...

So before the holidays, DH and I went to see a new endocrinologist and we were both very impressed.  We have been dealing with doctors for a long time and this is the first one that I feel actually listened.  DH has diabetes so he is the perfect doc for both of us.  He took me off the levothyroxine and put me on Armour Thyroid.  Hopefully this will help me lose some weight because I am tired of being a chunky monkey.  LOL  He also reduced my Metformin, eeeeeeeeeeeek I am so excited over this.  Now if he can only get me on a better BC I will be completely happy.

So, how is everyone else doing with their meds, weight loss, etc.?

happy that you are off of levothyroxine cause it is the generic for synthroid an doesnt work as well.  i have been on armour before and like it...armour works a little differently than synthroid and with me having hoshimotos disease (a specific type of hypo) i have to keep a close eye on my t3, t4, and tsh.  the armour effects the t4.  my t4 is fine, but my t3 isnt right so i am on synthroid.  my tsh is still too high.  but it is heading in the right direction.

if bc stands for birth control, i have a funny story.  when i has 19 i was put on bc and it wasnt for bc it was to try to regulate my cycles.  i had a bad side effect.  i am overweight and have been since like 5th grade.  i have big breasts and they get in the way.  the bc made my nipples really hard.  any time i moved my arms they would rub against my nipples and boy did that hurt.  the bc never helped my cycles so i just went off.  thought that might give you a laught.  hope you can find something you like.

Yes, I am on birth control because of my screwed up menstrual cycle that started it all.  My current BC is involved in a lawsuit with people claiming to have horrible side effects and possible death.  I am not okay with taking meds that have that kind of track record though I too scared to not take them.

I am sorry that you had that reaction.  If I could I would get off of it completely though I have a mortal fear of having my cycle go back to way it was.  Just thinking about it makes me shiver.

Glad that your levels are getting better and I hope it continues.
