~Veils~

What kind of veil are you wearing and how much was it ?

I wanted to know if spending 280 on a cathedral length veil with blusher was a reasonable price. Thanks

i am wearing a fingertip veil with rhinestone edges.  it was $150 from the salon.  i wish i knew to look online beforehand, though... because after the fact i've seen similar styles for cheaper.

I got mine from Mahtab.  It's a single layer fingertip veil with a cut edge and no embellishments for about $45...

Mine was $250 ahhh yes that is rediculous BUT I finally fell in love with something amongst this whole wedding process for teh first time- so I gave in.  I originally bought one for $45 from a local bridal store but they F*ed it up- twice!  So I was over them and seaching until I found the "one" haha (PIB)

- HMM :)

I had a HELLUVA time finding the right veil... I was battling with Alfred Angelo for literally MONTHS attempting to get some of the lace that's at the hem of my gown in order to have Candi Merle make me a custom mantilla....

However, long story short, I couldn't get the lace, and Candi didn't have anything avilable to her that matched even remotely.

I FINALLY ended up finding a veil on Ebay (41" round mantilla with a narrow scalloped lace edge) for about $30.  (that in an of itself was a headache, since they shipped me the WRONG veil first, and were difficult to deal with.. however the right veil got here Friday, so all's well that ends well).

Thats terrible of them Neebelung but at least you got the right one now. It sound like maybe I should try to find a better priced veil and if I dont find one then I will buy that expensive one.

I bought a two layer (top layer used as a blusher), standard cut, silver pencil edge cathedral veil from www.occanseydesigns.com and with shipping it came out to $120. A lot better than the $300 one I saw at a bridal store! Sounds like you're looking for something similar. You should check out their website.

We are making my own cathedral legth veil. All it is is fabric and a comb there was no way I was going to spend 300 on that!

I found a local seamstress that works out of her house doing alterations.  She's going to make my veil for $60 - cathedral length and blusher both with satin cord trim.  Why don't you check with a local fabric store like Jo Ann's.  The ladies at the fabric cutting table might know someone who makes veils - especially if they sell the fabric there.
