Venting session: Ordering BM dresses

Hello! Ive been really busy with work and school lately, so I've put off some wedding planning for the past three weeks.

So yesterday, I officially went on a search for BM dresses for my Nov wedding. I was shocked when most of the places I went to would have to "rush" order the dresses. Apparently, BM dresses take 3-4 months to order. I had no idea it took that long! To be fair to my BMs, I was trying to top off my budget for $150/dress, but the rush orders cost anywhere from $25-60/dress!

I really did not want to go through the extra trouble of having the BM dresses made, especially with two of my BMs being in SoCal (Im in NoCal). Ive also considering finding regular party dresses.

I guess Im just frustrated because I wish I knew about this earlier!

Thanks for reading and I hope I can prevent other Brides from going through this added stress!

You can try Pearl's Place.  It depends on the type of designer.  For example most bridal salons will say 3-4 months.  But for say "Mori lee" you can order up to 4-6 weeks depending on the make and color of the gown.

Or you can try Ebay which is where we found our BM dresses.

Hope this helps!

Also, check Ann Taylor. I got my girls dresses from them and what they have is in stock. You can also use coupons for 20% off.

For your SoCal girls- we got ours at Paradise Creations- http://www.pcfb.net/ Its a little hole in the wall bridal store in San Clemente- she said our Dessy dresses would take 8 weeks, and they came in almost 2 weeks earlier- just an FYI if you wanted to look around still without rushing... Also- they got all the alterations done within 2 weeks! HTH!

Ask for quick delivery dresses (4-6 weeks). I believe Jordan, Raylia, and many other compainies offer this.

I'd definately check out jCrew and Ann Taylor. Also give Nordstrom a try.

I've had issues with customer service at David's Bridal. It's hit or miss, had 1 good and 1 awful DB experience. But for the money and if you're strapped for time and extra "rush" fees...you can get any of their dresses off the rack. If the particular store that you're at doesn't have the right size/color they can look in their system and locate the nearest store that has what you're looking for.
