Venue pricing question
We put down a deposit at a banquet hall and reserved our date for next year. While we were there the owner was really nice and she gave me a few papers with menu choices and linen options etc. She said that she would email me a bigger packet of information later. The prices on the papers from her have 2013 on them.
So I get the emailed packet of info yesterday and the (higher) prices now say 2014. I thought that we would get 2013 prices since that's when we booked them. I sent her an email asking her about this and she sent one back saying that the event is going to be in 2014 and so we need to pay those rates and also that some months are busier for her than others and so you have to pay a higher rate in the premium months too. She said that May through October is "wedding season" and the prices reflect that.
Ladies am I wrong? Should we be getting 2013 prices?
When we put the deposit down we didn't really set anything in stone. We really just wanted to hold the date and we told her that we could iron out all the details as it got closer to the wedding. I don't know if she's trying to screw us or not but it just doesn't seem quite right.
