vintage, but not rustic?

Depending on the venue I might want to do a vintage style wedding. But everytime I look up a Vintage wedding all the comes up is really rustic things maybe I have the wrong Idea of vintage? I love skeloton keys and they have specail meaning to FI and I. So could I do a "key to my heart" Theme that isn't rustic but has other vintage things (lace, candles, soft colors)
Can anyone find some insperational pictures for me thats vintage but not too rustic? Keys would be a great touch!

This is the sort of thing I think of when I think of Vintage....is this the sort of thing you're looking for? To me Rustic is burlap, twine and mason jars as opposed to lace, roses and pearls

You can always combine your idea of the skeleton key and vintage decor with your overall vision of your wedding. Hope these pics help! :)

Those keys are so cute with the table escort cards!  You could use all of that...the pearls, the lace, the twine.  Take a look at all the photos and make it your own ;-)

Found it-however I was wrong about her theme and the skeleton keys. She did use keys, so I'll post this here, but I don't think it's what you're looking for. Sorry.

i was also thinking that maybe you should try looking it up as a victorian wedding.  the lace, skeleton keys and all sound very victorian to me.

You might want to try searching for "Vintage Glam" or "Vintage Elegance" to get ideas that incorporate fine old silver, lace, pearls, etc.  "Downton Abbey" or "Vintage Edwardian" are also starting to trend along with "Jazz Age" and "Roaring Twenties."

I know just what you mean about vintage and you might have some luck searching vintage chic or shabby chic. It tends to be less rustic with less burlap and more lace, pretty sparkly details and pearls. Not to toot my own horn, but the vintage style is what I focus on for my bridal acessories shop, often including actual vintage pieces and skeleton keys. I'm happy to help if you would like any number of different accessories with skeleton keys. I love vintage so much I started collecting pretty images for vintage weddings on a pinterest board that I am happy to share with you:

Let me know if I can help. Best to you, Kimberlee

Ever since visiting Paris and the Passarelle des Arts -- one of the bridges famous for the thousands of personalized locks fastened to it, the keys to which have been tossed into the Seine -- I've seen locks, keys and romance as very connected:

Lock Paris     Locks Paris

Maybe the right locks (something like the first above?) could be a cool idea.  If you can find a cool, vintage lock-and-key, you could have them engraved with your guests names and table numbes, affix the locks to a trellis-like structure, then have each guest supplied with a key to their lock as their gift (even if all the locks and keys are essentially the same, it's the idea).

Sounds like it's going to be a memorable day!
