Was your wedding shower a distater like mine?

I wish the pics in your knot bio worked...but I am so sorry sweetie that this happened to you...maybe you can have a small get together with your mom and the BMs you want to fix things with and just have a little mini shower to replace the one that you felt left out of...and tell them NOT to bring gifts and maybe you can whip up some cookies as favors since they didn't get any at the other show...nothing extravagant just a simple get together at your house (maybe a BBQ) or something with fun and games...just a thought...I'm sorry you had to go through this!!!!

Bleh… I would be upset/hurt too. I kinda know how you feel.  Do you think you will say anything?  I would just ignore it myself and go on planning and doing it all on my own, or with those that truly care about me and my FI and our big day.

I am scared of something like this happening.  Friends not being able to make it, or just not a positive loving environment.  If I were you I would sit down with Lisa and explain your feelings, and I would def. do it in person.  Talk with your other BM's and maybe appologize for getting on them when maybe it was really all their fault.  And lastly talk with your grandma, you don't want that kind of tension again at your wedding.  Sorry it happend. Hope for more positive things to come your way.  ;o)

Aww I'm so sorry to hear that :( I don't know what it is about people that make them act out like this, especially from your own family!  Anyways, it does sound like all roads lead to Lisa - I don't know if she's jealous or something - but yeah, it does sound like you need to have a talk with her.  I hope everything works out for you!

I'm so sorry this happened to you, especially at such a joyous occasion.  My stomach actually started knotting up because I had 2 people show up at my recent wedding party meet & greet who behaved just like Lisa.  I was so hurt by it because all it takes is a couple of people to damper a special time.  Thing about my situation was that everything took place at my home, & I paid for everything.  I don't know if it's jealousy, or judgement or what, but I was as graceful & courteous as can be because I really did appreciate everyone's time.  I made sure to personally thank everyone, plus I had gifts for everyone.  I made a point though (in my appreciation "speech") to let them all know that if you're not in this, let me know now.  I don't deal with the catty stuff.  Especially not on my wedding.

I said all that to say that some people just allow their misery to spread for no good reason.  No matter what you would have said, or contributed, people still let their attitudes be known, & that's so sad.  If she took the time & effort to assemble so much, why not go the next step, suck it up & share in the happiness for YOU.  If she had a genuine problem, she should have addressed you personally & figured out a solution.

I know that it's easier said than done, but do your best to shift your focus on you & your fiance & the joy of planning your wedding.  You & him are who it's all about, & you don't deserve to carry any tension or weight from what was supposed to be happy.  Like Bride2be mentioned, I would tt your grandma too.  Don't worry yourself about this though, it will only cause more stress, & ultimately that will only make Lisa even 'bigger' in this situation.  Hang in there.  I hope she soon realizes how immature she has displayed herself.

awww ou poor girl.  I'm so sorry this happened and what should have been such a sweet and happy moment in your life left such a bad taste in your mouth.  I can honestly say I feel the same way.  No one is helping my MOH with the planning and no one is offering a place to do it at.  I read its not ediquette to do it at mymom's house b/c it just looks like I want gifts.  Plus my mom thru my e-party (70) people and it was fully catered.  And she is paying for 90% of the wedding.  I just won't be asking her to use her house after all she's done.  She really has gone above and beyond.
