Wedding cake... Traditional or not?

http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/b7/96/88/b79688db86bdb39428c465b1e807f837.jpg

My fiance and I are going a less-traditonal route with our wedding cake. Like the couple who used bundt cakes for their wedding cake (see link) , we will also! We are getting them from Nothing Bundt Cakes. We LOVE their flavors and (I must say)  it is a much affordable alternative and good fit for our rustic/woodsy wedding! What do you think? For a wedding, should the cake be traditional? Or is it okay to step out of the box on this one? What does/will your wedding cake look like? (:

It's your wedding so if the both of you love the flavors and everything about Bundt cakes....I say go for it!  I especially like it if its much more affordable for you guys :)

I always admire brides that do their own thing...Our cake may have been more traditional but it's what we both wanted, so do whatever makes you happy!

I agree with Poppyaka - if bundt cakes are what you want then absolutely have them, they will look great with your rustic theme too.

We have recently changed our wedding destination to Vegas, but when we were going to be doing it in our hometown neither one of us wanted cake.  We were going to do different kinds of pie!

I think it looks AWESOME!

We had Nothing Bundt Cakes at our wedding...they are soooo good!! My favorite is the white chocolate raspberry!!! We used some as centerpieces, and had one for us to cut as our cake, and then we also had cupcakes  just cuz! :) You should totally do what makes you happy!!

I am seriously drooling over your cake Poppyaka.

Elise, I loved your bundt cake theme for your centerpieces.  I thought it was very unique.

Thanks NicholeB!  That freaking cake was sooo good, I wish I had a piece now!  Probably a good thing I don't live near Baltimore anymore where SugarBakers is..lol.

Our cake flavors were Amaretto cake with Raspbery Filling and also chocolate cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate mousse.  I got our inspiration for the look of the cake from PW :)
