~**Wedding cinematography RAw Footage**~

Hi girls,

For all of you who have booked and used the services of a wedding video/cinematographer; did you all receive RAW footage of your day? For some reason, my cinematographer is saying that I have to pay extra  ( 500$ more!) to get it. It doesn't make sense to me and I haven't experienced that with any of the other ones I concidered. Is not all the footage of YOUR wedding and should you not be able to see it all!? burning it on a cd shouldn't cost another 500$?

Any ideas?

Honestly, I think they charge extra. But it all boils down to your barganing power, I think.

Hmm. I don't have experience with many videographers. The guy we hired was doing it for the first time. I honestly haven't looked at the actual dvd he gave me, lol. I've watched it on youtube, but haven't checked out the dvd. I think it'd be awesome to have raw footage! Maybe IJ is right, can you bargain? Did he send you a contract before that has everything written down? Usually the contracts are pretty much how it will go though. GOod luck!

I didn't get a RAW footage. I just got what he put together and I am happy with that cause it was bacially run-on forever of the whole day anyways. But I got 3 different CD's.
