Wedding Delay Update
Let me first of all just say thanks to everyone who gave such warm words of encouragement when we postponed our wedding. Those words really helped.
Its been almost two months now since we made that decision and I can clearly see it was definately the right one. I have a clearer objective infront of me for what I need to accomplish this year. GOD's willing I'll be graduating in June with my associates degree. Then I'll be moving from my hometown to complete my bachelor's degree. Fortunately since I already started the bachelor's degree online, I only have one more year to finish after I move, YAY! I think I really needed this time to just focus on that. I think I was underestimating the total challenge of going to college.
It was more than just going to school and trying to keep up my GPA. I had to keep finding new ways to save money just so I could STAY in school. The total cost of me going to college was about $110,000. I managed to shave off $46,000 (and growing) from that through tons of beggin, borrowing and bargining and just good old fashioned "reading the fine print". I think adding the stress of wedding planning and a marriage which brings with it, finding somewhere to live, needing extra income and the possibility of an un-expected baby would have been over kill. I'm really feeling much more acomplished and at peace with myself these days. When that time finally comes for me and FI to tie the knot, I'll be SOOO ready! (don't worry I'm still looking up wedding colors on the side ;p )
Thanks again everyone for all your support!
