Wedding HORROR stories!!

To help give some of us perspective on our own weddings...

:-D  And as featured in the comments - do you have your own "story" from your wedding?  I know we all like to say the day went perfectly (and sometimes they do; sometimes we have that "well but this one thing.." about it) but what are your stories?

I don't particularly have any, except that we had highly intoxicated & exhibitionist MOH/BM (as DH had two best men).  My MOH gave a 15 minute rambling speech, full of some embarassing moments from high school, and the two BM made out (no joke) before dinner.

My MOH lives in D.C. and not all of my friends have gotten to meet her (she's lived out of state for a very long time) and so when I tell her stories, I say, "Oh, so and so, you met them at the wedding..." and she says, "I don't remember."  At which point I tell her, "You might not remember everyone from the wedding but everyone remembers you!"

Still.  Best wedding ever.  :)

OMG! hahaha! I didn't have any big issues, well expect that the car that was supposed to pick me up broke down haha! so my bother in law was the one who picked me up but I honestly didn't care at all about the car...the other that I didn't find out until I came back from my honeymoon is that while I was table hopping with my DH the cake started to fall apart LOL...my sister had to fix the top part of the cake but when we cut it I didn't notice anything!

The only issue I had on my wedding day was that my florist delivered my flowers 3 hours late!!! I wasn't able to take any getting ready pics with the flowers. Plus it caused my ceremony to start late and we had to rush taking pictures and took them during my cocktail hour. The worst part of the whole thing is that she wasn't even apologetic about the situation.

Our biggest thing was that the pastor and DH both messed up on the vows, and called me the "husband"! I seriously laughed through the rest of the vows!

Other than that, our only other real "hiccup" was that everyone forgot about getting a wagon for the little kids until we were ready to walk down the aisle! Thank goodness our DOC and decorators had one ready and decorated within 5 minutes!

We just had a hiccup regarding our only vegetarian. The lady was going to make her eat the same food she had the night before at the rehearsal, when I specifically asked for something different. She also had to wait for 45 min after everybody else ate for her food to come out.

Hmm well, I guess they dropped the giant bowl of premade salad in the kitchen. So to make up for it they tried to spread out the remaining salad. I guess my MIL only got about 2 pieces of lettuce! (she thought the server heard her talking about trying to loose weight and dieting! Lol) We didn't learn about the salad until later tho.

We also hired a band instead of a DJ. They didn't know how to play our songs with our parents, so we made CD's. Well the CD's skipped and the songs were all messed up. (mind you we each took ballroom lessons with our parents too) so that was all messed up. However, the band felt horible, played an Elvis song that we both danced with our parents at the same time. (don't ask me what song, I really can't remember!) They applogozed profusely, played for an extra half hour without charge and played a special "sweet caroline" crowd pleaser. MIL was P.O.'ed, I didn't mind too much. I know poop happens, you just have to go with the flow!

For me it was just the stress and people interferring in our relationship the 2 days before to the point where i spent the morning of the wedding crying and actually ended up punching my pillow(not my proudest moment) but once my dh got his phone back and i got a message from him I became completely calm... I'd just had enough of others thinking they knew what was best for our relationship and insisting it be done their way, caused major tension between dh and i for those days leading up... other than that and our desserts melting, everything went perfectly... We ended up with a beautiful day and its amazing how that one message changed everything for me...

We had a destination wedding & I scheduled a time to meet & see the restaurant when we arrived in town before the wedding. The time that we had agreed on turned out that the restaurant was closed, when I called to reschedule the person that answered the phone had no idea who I was & told me the person I wanted to speak to wasn't in till the end of the week. We were getting married on Wednesday. I just left a message for them to get back to me ASAP. Luckily, my wedding planner knew the restaurant and it worked out ok.
We also rented a dance floor that was 3 foot panels that snapped together. After the first dance it came apart & didn't stay together so part of the dancing was making sure you didn't fall thru the cracks.
In the end It really didn't matter... We had a wonderful time and didn't let anything bring us down on our day.
