wedding registry

My fiance and I are starting to plan our registry.  Are there any tips as to what stores offer the best deals if you register with them?

I would suggest only registering at stores you know you will be buying at frequently because most discount offers are only on items still in your registry after your event. Otherwise normal sale prices are usually the only discount.

pottery barn's discounts are good for up to 6 months AFTER the big event.

Macy's Wedding Discounts

Pier 1 does not seem to ffer any wedding registry discounts

Target again does not list anything specific on their website.

I would just look at the sites you love and stick to them vs registering at a place you are unfamiliar with.

I'm Canadian so it may be different but we registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and got a bunch of 20% off coupons, and then after the wedding  we got 20% off everything on our registry for one day (and you could add to your registry that day) so we just went in and spent most of our wedding money on remaining items!

We also registered at Sears and they gave us a whole bunch of 15% coupons.

If you are unsure and really like a store go in and talk to them, you may be surprised what they offer!
