Sing it!! Even if you can't sing if you sing your vows to yourself you will remember just as you remember your favorit song.

I did what a few other girls did - wrote my vows neatly on little index cards, and on the back of the cards "You are my best friend." Each time I switched to a new card another word appeared, so I was sending a little message to DH :)

First of all Calm Down! You will be fine. It is just the stress once you look into FIs eyes you will be fine.

I get super anxious when it comes to public speaking so even though I pretty much have my vows memorizes already I will probably have them written on a small index card

You could put it on a little, pretty placard, so that you're not reading just from a sheet of paper.

(Now, I made the little pretty, patterned placard and my BMs promptly left it in the hotel room, so I read my vows off of my blackberry.  Classic!)

I posted this a few weeks ago and thought it was a cute idea. Still "reading" them but in a different way

I know a lot of ladies here did the I - Do cards and those look really nice! If you're worried about a sheet of paper looking out of place I say decorate it, make it purty, and make it fit into the wedding! Then you could even frame them after the wedding!

Sweetheart dont be scared, speak from the heart.  If you forget add something different dont allow it to detour the message you want to bring to your future hubby.  He will appreciate it more and sometimes when we forget stuff better things come out of the imagination.   Remember "SPEAK FROM THE HEART."

YOu will do great dont be nervous!!!

Practice, practice, practice!! As you feel more comfortable with them, it will help you to be more relaxed so you can say them with relative ease. Also, I DO cards are really cute. If you don't want to actually hold cards, what about having FI's best man have cue cards and if you get stuck he can hold one up just to get you back on track? In this way, you aren't actually reading the cards but have something there just in case. Just a thought!

I don't think using a piece of paper would be a bad thing. You could use something pretty, like alyciamarlene said and then it could be something you keep and display after the wedding. I just wanted to add that my husband and I chose not to write and say our own vows, because we were both afraid that it would add so much nervousness to the ceremony. However, it's the one thing I regret about my wedding! I actually wasn't nervous at all during the ceremony and I wish we would have not let our nerves prevent us from reciting our own vows!

Instead of a "guest book" I'm having (shaped) "cards" that guests will be writing their good wishes/marriage advice on.  I'm going to scrapbook them after the wedding.  What I decided to do is to write/print our vows on one of the cards along with the poems that will be read and put them in the scrapbook too.  That way I will always have the vows we said to each other.

We wrote our own vows and I made vow cards for us to read from. There's no way I would have been able to remember my vows during the ceremony because emotions were running sky high that day. Not nerves surprisingly, just like a super surreal feeling, like in a living dream. :) We are going to frame these for our bedroom wall.

Awww. . .Don't be nervous and I love the rope idea! Make sure while you are reading, you look up in his eyes. Once you are up there with him, the rest of the world won't even be in your range of sight. You will just see him!
