So this cycle I've had my FSH and LH tested to confirm that I have a good ovarian reserve - I do, my numbers could not have been better.

DH got his SA results, his numbers in every category were nearly double the numbers needed for a normal SC, etc. his total volume was even double. So he is not the problem.

My progesterone test at 8dpo was 11 (needs to be 5 or more to be considered normal).

We also BD in the morning the day I ended up Oing and knowing DH's results I figured we had it in the bag.....BFN today at 13 dpo.

At the end of next week I have an appt for an HSG to see if my tubes are blocked. As much as I'm disappointed not to have my BFP this month, I am also relieved to know the last test is coming and we'll have an answer as to whether or not I can conceive naturally.

Hoping for lots of fun BDing and BFPs for you ladies!

@ Claire - sorry to hear there was another BFP, but it sounds like you're in good hands and they're trying to get you an answer.  Huge kudos for you trying to get answers so early into TTC as well (it's been less than a year, right?).  I heard yesterday on the news that "they" (didn't catch who "they" were, but it sounded like doctors or the medical field in general) won't consider you as having a problem until it's been min 2 years of trying naturally.  I just thought that was ridiculous.

Everyone knows my news of the week: AF arriving.  I'm still super happy about this, but know there is still a lot of other potential hurdles out there.  I'm learning early on that it is literally taking every day as it comes.

My bloat is gone and my uterus/ovaries are no longer being brutally stabbed (that's how my cramps felt).  So I feel "skinny" again and pain free.

Since we're not actively TTC just yet, I am taking advantage of today's beautiful weather (up north in Canada) of 12c (about 50f) and we're bbq-ing smokies for dinner.  I've read they're one of the things that's not recommended, or at least recommended with great caution (thoroughly cooked, as in steaming hot), while PG so I'm trying to enjoy them now.  I'll probably cut them out while PG due to the sodium etc (I do buy organic all beef ones, but still).  I also LOVE brie, and that's a definite NO while PG, so I need to get me some of that this weekend.  I plan on melting it in our brie baker, then serving it on baguette with chili jelly (which I also suspect would be a NO during PG due to sodium).  I really do eat healthy, and in moderation, but I'm trying to enjoy these while I can :-)

Sorry to hear Claire, let us know how your appointment goes, FX for you!

Athena, you're making my mouth water!

I ordered my prenatals and should have them waiting for me at home after yoga. I'll start those tomorrow. My OBGYN appointment is coming up on the 26th and I swear she's going to think I'm nuts with the list of questions I have for her!

Athena - yes, take advantage of all the things now that you can't have when PG!
It has been 7 months, but I will be 36 in June and that changes the time line for us. My dr said if no BFP in 6 months then we could stat doing tests because of my age. My mom went through peri-menopause at 36 so it was another reason to test sooner rather than later.

Questions are healthy Nicole! If your dr seems irritated then find a new one!

Not much going on with me, I am on CD8 and will start doing the OPKs in two or three days...we are BDing every other day until I get (hopefully) a positive OPK. Last two cycles I O'd on CD14 so that is basically when I expect it to happen this time too.

I'm on CD30. No sign of AF yet, but I'm thinking it'll probably show up sometime in the next day or two. :S I still don't think I ovulated, so not really expecting a BFP this month. DH doesn't want to TTC this cycle since he doesn't want a Christmas baby, so hopefully April will be our month.

@ Claire - ok. I'm still glad that you're being given good care with that. Sometimes doctors aren't as proactive as they can be. Good luck!

Great advice Claire, I hoping she isn't put off because I like her!

@Athena, You know I really should write them down when I'm thinking of them. Because now that I am on the spot, my mind is blank. Mostly they are qusetions that we all discuss here. I want to ask her thoughts on charting/temping/OPK. I want to see if there are other suppliments I should be taking (prenatals, probiotics, DHA, oh MY!). I'll also probably ask about working out too. I'm sure more will come up before the 26th!

Now question for you ladies: I've noticed lot's of ladied talk about BDing every other day. Why every other?

Well personally, we try every other day, otherwise I would get burnt out before I actually O....it sounds bad, but if I had to do it every day I might start to feel forced, not into it as much. Plus in terms of fertility, every other day, with BD every day in your fertile window should be plenty :). Though I am sure my hubby would not mind BD every day, he is sooo busy with graduate school, no need to stress him out more! Lol

I'm on CD10 today, so getting ready to start my OPKs here soon. Other than that, not much to report...just waiting on that little smiley face to show up so we can get down to business. Lol:)

@Nicole: usually they say BD every other day to prevent burnout (everyday sounds fun in theory, but even DH was over it after a week straight--too much like work) and give your hubby's sperm count time to replenish itself.

BD every other day is also recommended if DH has a low SC. BD every day can make it lower in that case. After my DH's came back so high he was like, "Woo hoo! We can BD every day!" LOL

Aha thank you all, it makes perfect sense. I wanted to be sure that BDing too much wasn't harmful too. So many things to consider!

@Claire, my DH would totally say that!

AF finally appeared this morning (CD35). I've finally convinced DH to at least consider TTC this month (really, being born around Christmas can't be too bad!), so I'm hoping and praying he changes his mind. :)

FX for lots of BFPs this month!
