Spring/Summer 2012 Baby Bumps!

Weekly Update:9/19 - 9/25

Hey ladies,

I saw on some of the other due date groups that they do weekly updates and thought it would be a nice thing for us to do and an easy way to keep all of our updates together in one place. I, personally, loooove to hear what is going on with you guys.
So, tell us what's up with you this week. It doesn't have to be baby related :)
Have you had an appt, any ultrasound pics or news from your dr.?
Are your symptoms the same, worse or different?
Have you bought anything or received anything baby related (or not)?
Any cool reveals to family or friends?

Ok, I guess I'll go first... :)

I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow!! Yay!!  The only symptoms I have is the sore boobies, still a bit tired during the day, and a wave of nausea here and there...( I know those of you who are experiencing full blown MS probably hate me! )

I had my "technically" 12 week sono last Friday and posted that on a different thread.  I also officially announced it on fb last Friday and had so many well wishes from everyone, it was awesome because I thought I was never gonna be able to share news like that with anyone! It was a looooong ride!

I really haven't bought anything for the baby, I rather wait until we find out the sex.  My SIL offered me her glider and ottoman, but the fabric was like a blue denim and I wasn't thrilled with the color of the wood...of course I didn't tell her that!  Does that make me snobby?  I just feel like I want my first baby's nursery nice and want everything to match.  DH thinks that I need to make it functional first then think about all the matchy matchy stuff, but I just want everything perfect for my LO.  Am I wrong for thinking this way??

Hahaha, I probably should have answered my own post!
That is awesome about the FB post. It's ridiculous, I know, but I am looking forward to that, too. :)
Congrats on 12 weeks!
I am about the same in terms of symptoms: occassional queasiness just started a couple days ago, sore boobs at the end of the day and terrible sleep still but overall still feeling pretty OK.
I had my 9 week ultrasound this morning and we were given the all clear to move on to a regular ob (have been with RE so far). We heard the heartbeat for the first time and it was crazy cool and surreal and sweet and just all kinds of feelings came up. 168beats/minute and it is starting to look less alien like! :)

I will be 9 weeks on thursday!!!!  I was feeling decent this weekend and this morning but around 11 the m/s has hit me. :(  I hate it!  Right now my mac n cheese cup is saving me!

@valleygirl: no you aren't snobby...i'm the same way!!!  I want everything new.  No hand me downs.  But i've always been like that.  I'm all about having the nicest things and looking the best!  Not me physically...but "things", my mom is the same way so that's why I think my parents are all for buying us the uppa baby vista!  LOL...

My parents bought us our stroller that comes with a bassinet and we're super excited!  We talk about the nursery and baby names but we're just trying to get by until the first trimester is over.  Every day work is tough.  I just feel like work take so much out of me!!!  I just hate the nausea feeling or feeling as if someone is sitting on my chest/throat!

I chopped all of my hair off and friday and feel so refreshed!  I added some highlights and low lights.  I cut about 6-8 inches off...but I usually have shorter hair so it's nothing majorly new.  It's still long enough to put in a pony.  I just got a cute assymetrical bob that sits right above my shoulders.

**I just finished my mac n cheese cup and am wishing I had another...no wonder i'm gaining weight in my first trimester...lol...but it actually tasted amazing!**

Hahahaha, mac and cheese does sound good.... Mmmmmm.
I love getting haircuts. I always feel exactly like that, refreshed.
And, no, I don't think it's snobby either. We all have a vision of how we want this whole experience to go, especially our firsts, and I think we have the right to indulge that. :)
I'm grateful for any help I get but I also want things to be exactly the way I want it and I think that is ok. :)

Good thread, Jady! I LOVE hearing everyone's updates, too :)

Not too much is new with me, unfortunately. Dh and I went out to dinner with another couple that we are close friends with and announced it to them. It was awesome! We were at a Mexican restaurant and I knew I would just improv the way I'd tell them, so as we were discussing the food, I said, "Well, I guess we should order the fajitas since we've already got a little bean". Lol, totally cheesy but it worked. They were so confused at first but then my friend got it and asked if we were preggo. When I said yes, they both screamed and the whole restaurant stared at them! Definitely something I'll always remember :)

These past two days, I haven't had any symptoms, which makes me nervous. I've been super bloated but that's it! I was nauseous before going out to dinner but I felt much better after eating. I'm only 5w3d so maybe it's too soon for any real symptoms to hit??

Ladies who aren't feeling sick please enjoy it. I was complaining that I was just bloated and not throwing up. Well let me tell u week 8 hit and I've been miserable. Not throwing up but just plain nauseous and hits me just when I'm not expecting it. I bought sea bands.... Knock on wood... They might be working?!
On a happier note. Our first dr appointment and ultrasound was today. It was amazing! Saw the baby heard the heartbeat. DH started to cry. A moment to remember for sure! Due April @ 26 th.

Great post G8R.Girl!

I'm currently just 4wks 5days... Feeling fairly normal now, except for one thing... or should I say two very swollen things! They seem to have gone from big to massive over the past few days. Normally a 30FF anyway, so bigger isn't better for me!

@ValleyGirl: I completely understand wanting everything to match. Especially with the first. My DH is similar to yours in that we shouldn't get too carried away with the 'stuff' and make sure we just have what we need. However, we will be on a tight budget so I will need to compromise a bit!

@Jewel: Yay for the hair chop! Pics please! I got about 5 inches off mine last month and have a really short bob now. I love having short hair.

@clightner: That's amazing! Bet it was so lovely, especially when your DH got teary! :)

Mmmmm.... macaroni cheese.....

I love mac n cheese cups!  But one is definitely not enough for me nowadays.  :(

I'm 13 weeks today, and we officially announced it on Facebook this morning.  It feels SO good not to keep this a secret anymore.  (Only our immediate families and closest friends already knew.)  We love reading everyone's well wishes... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I also got a call from my OB regarding my sequential screening.  It came back normal, something like a 0.03% chance of down syndrome and an even less probability of a chromosomal abnormality.  woohoo!  DH is taking me out for (cooked) sushi tonight to celebrate.  :)

I'm happy to read everyone's pregnancy is going well so far, despite the m/s, sore breasts, etc.  Hope you all have a great week!

I've been really busy this week. I have a 3 year old with chicken pox, and a DH that just had surgery. Trying to take care of everyone while feeling like total butt has not been fun. I'm still dealing with the extreme constipation that I can't seem to fix. I honestly don't know what else to do, but I can't imagine living with this for 7 more months. I'm really hoping that things start getting better soon. I can't wait to feel good again.

My Dr didnt even give me a pregnancy test. My ultrasound was first and my drs appointment was after. I thought for sure they would take my blood and or urine test but I didn't do those until after the ultrsound. Crazy! Just showed up and in a couple minutes we were looking at our baby on the screen. Did this happen to anyone else?

My dr didn't do any tests my first visit, I had a pap and an internal exam (i guess they can tell by your cervix?!?) he then had me come back 2 weeks later for an u/s - thats what confirmed my pregnancy. Actually I didn't have any blood work till my 2nd trimester!

He did ask how many tests I took (5 haha!) and then said "well they were right!"
