Weekly Update Thread: December 10 - December 16

Hi Ladies,

I've just kind of boring and I'm at lunch so I thought I start the weekly update this week (Hope this is ok Becca?)Hope you all enjoyed the weekend and the second sunday in Advent!? I was not so active the last two weeks because of my nasty flue and a lot of work.

On Saturday I went to a bit Christmas market with my mum and sister - it was soooooo darn cold outside but also so amazing with all the christmas lights.

This week will not so busy for us. Today we have an appointment with our bank for the financing of our new house. For luck we didn't need to take a large amount from the bank as FIL will get us a nice credit for zero percent interests which is sooooo great. So we have not so much costs with the bank credit. Tomorrow I'm going to the Christmas party from my second job - I'm looking forward to it because it's the first Christmas party with my new colleagues (I started the job last May after I quit my other second job after 10 years). On Saturday my SIL celebrate her 36th birthday and I still have no present for her - ahhhh I don't know what to buy her :o/

So for now I hope you all have a nice week.

Bye for now Ladies :)

Hey Kathryne! Glad you're feeling better! You must be beyond excited with all the house preparation!

Here, life goes fast as for everybody else with Christmas being next door! I still have a lot of work to do on my thesis but at least, for the first time in 2 year an a half, I feel like it's mooving foward!!!! My hubby is still getting used to his new job. At first he was kind of freaking out because it's a smaller compagny and the furnitures weren't working like he wanted (internet, his office was weird, etc.). But since "patience" isn't is principal quality, I didn't worried about it. As a matter of facts, everything got in place in the middle of last week and now he seems to like it better.

Today is our first snowstorm in Qc. Not big enough for them to close the schools but luckily, I'm working from home today so I'll stay in my pajamas and have as many cup of tea I want, looking at the snow :). Other than that, we're having DH's office Christmas party on Friday. It's a dinner + dancing evening + night + breakfeast in a fancy hotel so I can't wait to be there, relax and enjoy some time with him! It's also DH's grandma 85th birthday, so on Saturday, we're having a big family dinner. I love Christmas time!!!!!

Hope you'll all have a wonderful week.

Hey Kathrin!

So happy you are feeling better! I am too thank God. I finally sound like Tressy again! It only took three weeks! I can't wait to see pics of your new house!

Hey Pascale!

Lucky you that you can work at home in your PJ's! You darn lucky girl you! Lol. Glad hubby settling in his new job. Did you take pics of the snow? I love the first snow fall! Sounds like DH xmas party is going to be one good time and tell grandma happy 85th Birthday! That is so awesome!

As for me, yes I am finally back to feeling like Tressy. DH went to doctor on Friday and was prescribed anti vert to take three times a day, but my baby is still dizzy. He has another appointment this Friday and he may possibly have to be off work for awhile or early retire. I faxed my resignation letter to my second job Friday and feel very relieved and happy I did it. I want to be with DH every step of the way when needed! Had a great weekend with the stepchildren and we went over to my sis and brother in law house Saturday. They cooked dinner for us and we had an awesome time. And yes, I brought my furbabies too! Lol. Me and DH take them everywhere with us! I didn't want DH to get Buddha's ears clipped, but he did it anyway last week and one of his ears doesn't stand up, but he is still so freaking cute I just want to gobble him up! Finally finished tree and decorating the rest of the house. DH was really into the Christmas spirit this year! He said because he has a wife to inspire him! My Christmas party at my job is Friday at Benihana and I am so looking forward to it! We always have such a good time and today we did our annual trivia contest. The winners will be announced at the party and the prize is cash! Last year I came in second place and won $200.00! Hope I am at least in the top three so that will be some extra money for me and DH for our mini vacation to Chicago! We are leaving on the 15th and will return on the 18th. So excited!!

Wishing you all a fantastic week!!!

Hello ladies!

Alex and I are just pushing through finals week this week - and on Tuesday (a week from tomorrow) we will fly back home to Oregon for the month!! I am SO excited to see everyone, I haven't seen most of them since the wedding!

Alex is recording an album while we are there which is a big deal, too! He has written a bunch of new music over the past couple of months and he has a good friend who is going to help record and mix it at a studio in Portland.

Hey ladies, everything sounds pretty great for everybody!

@kathrin, awesome news about the house!

@pascale, what a great feeling that you are seeing progress on your thesis! And that DH is liking his job more now. It always takes some time to get in the groove. Have fun at the office party, sounds like a blast!!

@Tressy, glad to hear you're feeling better!! And positive vibes to Cale about his health and job and everything. I'm glad you feel relieved about resigning from your second job. That's a great feeling!

@Rania, OMG, wow!! House in Greece that you guys can design? That sounds great!! And good luck with your event planning business. It sounds like you've got a great start!

@Chelsi, good luck with finals!! Have a blast back home seeing everybody!!

As for me and DH, we are throwing our first big party (it will be CHristmas/housewarming) at our new condo. And actually our first party b.c our other place was way too small for people. lol. So we will have 18 people in our condo...I'm a little nervous it will be cramped, but oh well! It will be great!!!

And DH decided to quit his job. He was having trouble even getting to work on time that's how much he couldn't take it. His manager really likes him and somehow they have worked out instead of a two weeks notice, he will have five more weeks at his current job to follow through on some sales and stuff. At least it will give him time to find a new job (hopefully) and for us to plan for that. He was very relieved that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We will be working on his resume tonight.

I don't remember if I posted about this before, but I decided to get my masters! I start January 7th! I get tuition assistance at work, so why not!?! I decided to get an MBA conc. HR b/c I don't think a masters in health or exercise science is something I really want to pursue...I want to broaden my horizons, not narrow them thats for sure!!

So all in all, kind of a lot going on I guess!

Chelsi - Wishing you and Alex the best on your finals and woo hoo about flying home! That is exciting!

Elise - I did my first family function Christmas 2011. I was okay until all the guest arrived. Cale has a huge family and all the kids came home from college with girlfriends and boyfriends. I felt so overwhelmed! I had Cale's aunts telling me to keep the chafing dishes full and I had to remember where everyone put there coat and that ice was available. I am sure you will do a great job and it is exciting to do! And you get to do it as a married lady! Glad DH decided to quit his job that was making him miserable and I am sure he will find something soon and congrats to you on pursuing your masters!

Hi ladies!

It got so so cold over here and work has been busy like crazy! Since I went back to work in March (after the baby break) I think this week has been the most stressful. And as I'm working part time I could hardly finish everything, which means I had to give it to my collegue. I don't like that cause she tends to not do things properly because she's not motivated, although she actually is the group coordinator. But I think she's not qualified for it and she's not serious enough about it. Anyway - I stop venting now - I like my job and I prefer beeing busy than beeing bored :-)

LO is still very demanding and he's taking a lot of energy out of me. So on my free days I get hardly done anything, apart from when he's sleeping. At the moment he only wants to be by my side. And I'm so sorry for DH... But I guess this is just a period and it's normal.

Tomorrow DH's got a day off and we finally go Christmas shopping. We decided also to have small tree. I'm so looking forward to it, it's gonna be pretty I'm sure.
