Lol. It is almost 60 degrees here and I am FREEZING!! haha. We are a bunch of wimps here in Northern California :)

This week will be normal again. I wish there was something more exciting going on!

We had a nice weekend. I took off Friday as a "sick" day/mental health day. It was nice, so the weekend felt long for me. Hung out with friends Friday and Saturday night. Watched the Niner's lose a horrible loss on Sunday and then I worked on addressing Christmas cards and what not while DH played video games. I can't wait til he's over that game because it's been a lot of playing lately...

They do say that video games is a great birth control. HAHA.

That's all...this week...just working :D Not sure what we're doing next weekend either.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Hi Ladies,

OMG I will fly to the USA - we only have 34 degrees and last night we had the first snow this year *so freeeeeezing*

GUESS WHAT?!?! Manuel and I bought our first home last week - can't get enough of the smile in Manuel's face *lol* We are both soooo darn happy that we got it and that we can move in at the end of January. Ahhhh so soon :) Last week I had a very nasty flu and my voice was missing for more than 3 days. But on the other side I was so happy because we had our second house visit on Wednesday and on Thursday we had a meeting with the Notary to underwrite the purchase agreement. Everything went really fast because the pre-owner is insolvent and needs to sells it soon.
The house is so perfect for us and it is only 2 minutes away from my work and one of the neighbours is Manuel's colleague from work. It's from 1993 and only needs new wallpapers and painting. All rooms have white Carrara Marmor except the bedrooms. We would like to get a carpet for these. The garden is large and also need a little upkeep. So now we will celebrate our last Christmas in our current flat. But all in all it's so perfect and we both love it. Can't wait till the end of January to get everthing done and then to move in :)

Tomorrow we have a Christmas Dinner from work. We will go to a good Argentinian Restaurant *yummie*. And on Friday we have a girls night out and on Saturday my Mom, my sister and I are going to a big christmas market in Dortmund with some christmas shopping. So it will be a busy week but I look forward to it :)

@Elise - haha yes it's the best BC ever :) Manuel also loves to play video games (at the moment it's the new part from World of Warcraft) So I don't see him that often ;)

Wish you all a nice week :)

Kathrin-CONGRATS on the house! How exciting for you two :) And of course post pics when you have some. Our close friends just bought a house! I'm excited for them, but right now we live 2 minutes away from them and now it will be like 15 minutes. I guess I can't complain. hehe. Sounds like you have a fun week ahead.

Hey lovelies!

Glad to read everybody had a great weekend! Ours was pretty relaxing. We saw friends on Friday night and we did our Christmas Tree on saturday. I'm so glad the house finally feels like Christmas.

@Kathryne: Congrats for the house! Can't wait to see pictures. It's so exciting.

We had a bad new yesterday. We are the furparents of a sweet 2 years old black Lab, Zac. Since a week or so, he was limping so we brought him to the vet where he had X-rays. Seems like he has cruciate ligament tear on his right foot with osteoarthristis. He also has some abnormalities on his left cruciate ligament so this means they need to operate as soon as possible the right leg...and possibly the left one 6 months later. It's really expensive (2500$ BY leg) but we love him so much, we'll find this money no matter how! If we don't operate, the osteoarthritis will get worse, and soon we would have to euthanize him cause he wouldn't be able to walk anymore. This is out of question!!! So, the first operation is set for january 8th, and we're praying it will work!

Other than that, we're both working a lot. I was supposed to have a meeting with my thesis director at this exact moment, but she pushed it back at 15h00. I guess I'll be overwhelmed by work after this meeting...:P.

Hope everone will have a great week.

Hi Becca! The weather has been great in Michigan too! So nice that all I have been wearing is this great brown shawl I got as a xmas gift last year. Not even sure the temperature but enjoying it!!!!

Hey Elise. I want a normal week!!!! Lol.

@Kathrin - CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting you and DH purchased a home!!! Happy to hear you are feeling better and sounds like you just have excitement buzzing around you everywhere!

As for myself, I was MIA due to finding out Friday I had Bronchitis, a sinus and ear infection! Can you believe that??? I was hoarse the week before, I called off Tuesday because I wasn't feeling well and by Friday I lost my voice totally and had a horrible choking cough that could wake the dead! I went to urgent care two hours after I got to work and they told me I shouldn't have came to work. By this point I had lost my voice totally! My voice has returned, but it still is husky and hoarse sounding. Lol. I am also still experiencing the choking cough which seems to occur during bedtime and throughout the night. I may have to go back to the doctor to have that checked out. Any hoo Cale took Buddha, my furbaby, to get his ears clipped yesterday and I did not want my baby to have his ears clipped! Zeke had his done two weeks prior. I like the look on Zeke even thought I did not want his ears done either because he has a big head, but my Buddha just looks weird and pitiful to me! Maybe once they are healed I will feel better! We went and picked out our xmas tree yesterday when I got off work and we are going to decorate it tomorrow for date night! DH got bit in the face by something while at work Thursday and had to have a steroid shot. It was really bad and it swelled his face so bad he looked like a mutant! He has been dizzy and they told him it was a side affect from the shot, but I don't believe that because it is Tuesday and he is still dizzy. Dizzy to the point of falling down so I am very worried. I told him no questions asked he is going to the doctor tomorrow if he is still dizzy! We had dinner with some friends Saturday night that we had not seen since the wedding and we had such a great time! They came back to our house afterwards and we talked and laughed until three in the morning! The Senior Respite Program has started at my job and it is nuts!!!! I had been asking for weeks my role in all of this and I finally found out yesterday the first day of the program! Wow is all I can say. . .It is a lot. That is why I am loafing right now on PW!

Hope all of you have a great week!

Aw Pascale, I can't imagine how hard that must be with your furbaby :( Hope all goes well.

Tressy, I'm so glad you're feeling better! A triple whammy of being sick sounds like no fun...hope you get a normal week sometime!! lol

Rania, we missed you here! That's good you will get to enjoy the holidays this year. The gym is open Christmas Eve as well, but I am lucky my coworker has family out of town and will not be traveling, so he has offered to work so I can take the day off. So so nice of him. As for christmas gifts...I basically buy people what they need. My nieces and nephews are getting clothes, MIL is getting a movie that she wants and a framed wedding picture (same with my parents), FIL is getting a baseball movie, BIL gets a video game, niece and nephew on DH's side are gettng some toys, CD's, my siblings and I are going in on a sound bar for my parents tv b.c the sound sucks on it! We really try to keep costs down so it helps but its still a hard time of year! lol.

Becca, I LOVE your bow hat!!! ;) Awesome job!!

I was a Word of War Crack player and I know what you mean GermanBride2.. I am suprised you see him at all. I had friends who lost jobs over that crazy game and even a couple of them ended up divorced. They farmed by day and raided by night. I was one of those slow to progress because I did not spend the crazy hours in game, but a few of my friends helped power level me, because they wanted me to raid with them due to my mad Healing skills. Druid Night ELf Server Kargath.

Where I am at this week: I am making all of my Christmas gifts.

And creating more samples of the menu for our 20 year vow renewal. I have to try and test each recipe before the big day.

I am also hosting a holiday crafting party with a bunch of friends on the 16th Dec.

December 21st I am going to church to celebrate the Yule

December 25th we will stay home and stay cozy by the fire watching movies

December 31 is my Husbands and my anniversary of our meeting and the first two kisses he ever gave me were on my cheek. It was sweet.

That is my month in a nut shell.

SO SORRY ladies!! I started the thread and then have not answered it.  I've been training for my new position, which is awesome!!!

Our warm has now gone and it is about 30-something, which is fine because it just makes it seem more like Christmas.  : )

Elise - A "mental health" day is ALWAYS an excellent thing to do every once in a while, especially with how busy everyone is lately.  : ) Thanks about the hat.  I told DH that I would make him one if he wanted and he started laughing uncontrollably and said no thank you.  LOL

Kathrin - CONGRATS on your home!!!! That is so exciting! Can't wait to see pics and to hear all about what you are doing to make it your own! How are you feeling? I hope better!

Pascale - Oh sweetie, I'm so very sorry to hear about your furbaby! I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Please keep us updated and if you need to talk, we are all here for you!

Tressy - I sure hope that you are feeling back to normal and no sickness SOON!!! Oh my gosh, I am having that same coughing during the night, but it is because of my allergies/sinuses.  I just ran out of my Alavert, so when I run out later on today, I'm going to pick some up.  : )   I sure hope Cale is feeling better!  It sounds like you enjoyed your time with your friends and whoo hooo for getting your Christmas tree.  Can't wait to see it and your house all decorated pretty!

Rania - Hey sweetie!! Glad to see you back in the group and it sounds like fun getting ready and all decorated for the holidays!  Who do you have to shop for?

As for my happenings, DH and I are going for our tree tomorrow night (hope the rain holds out until after we get home).  We are getting a real tree, but have seriously been contemplating getting a fake one.  I'm on the fence on this, so I will let you know what happens with that.  Work (both jobs) are keeping me busy, which I love so I don't mind.  This Saturday is DH's birthday as well, so tomorrow I am baking him a cake and depending upon the weather, we are going to go out to lunch.  This weekend, I'm starting on our Christmas cards and making a list of the few gifts that I need to buy (DH and I are exchanging only one gift due to craziness this year) and I need to start all my baking so everything is ready to be shipped out and given out locally.  Other than that, I'm just loving my new job and definitely looking forward to Christmas.
