Our Weekly Thread, ladies!
Happy Monday to you all!!!
A happy week to everyone!
I've been MIA the last 2 weeks and I'm glad to be back to catch up on all the news:-)
I'm doing really good, finally again. I've had such a bad cold and then the LO was ill too, so the last two weeks have been stressful.
Work is pretty busy right know and that means I enjoy even more my free time at home! :-). I have started to sort out my recipes and recipe magazines and I discoverd some great ideas that I really need to try out soon. I tend to keep a lot of magazines and so I loose the overview LOL! I'm craving pasta so badly these days aswell as asian food, so I really need to try some new stuff.
I'm tired of the cold and grey weather and I'm so ready for spring time and more sunlight.
@Olivia: It's good to hear from you! I am trying some new recipes these days, too. I feel like I was kind of getting into a rut. I decided to try at least one new recipe every week, since I figured that was easy enough. So far, so good. And good luck with those cravings! Feed that little bean what it wants :-)
Nothing much is new with me. My belly is growing a bit now, and I am almost at the halfway point of my pregnancy (eek!) DH and I are honestly just enjoying our married time right now -- date nights, little romantic gestures and such. I am really loving this time, focusing on the two of us (and the fur baby) before our LO arrives. And, I think I already agreed with Olivia on a previous thread regarding the spring time, but yes -- PLEASE hurry up!!!! LOL I can't take it!
Have a great week, everyone! <3
Not much to report on my side - I'm just constantly feeling exhausted!!
I too am tryng out new recipes! Tonight I'm planning on trying fishcakes and or ratoutille depending on what time it is when I get home.
Debbie, I get more and more excited for you as time goes by! You're gonna be such a great mamma!
Olivia, I'm sorry you and LO haven't been well but glad you're better now :-)
How are you Becca?
@Jenny: it's so great to see you more often on the boards again. I'm sorry you're feeling tired. I'm sure it is also this time of the year, it's cold and grey outside and this doesn't help. I hope you find some energy soon and get to rest over the weekend. <<hugs>>I love ratatouille but I don't cook it very often, more during summer time;-) Let us know how it was! Fishcakes sound yummy too!
@Debbie: I feel you about enjoying the time together before the LO arrives. DH and I were the same before Fabrice was born. And it's the right thing to do, so enjoy it to the max :-)Dito Jenny, I'm so excited to you too and I'm sure you will be an amazing mommy!
@SPRING: please please hurry up and come soon, we need you :-)
@Becca: Hope you're doing fine!
Aww, all these mommas and mommas to be :) DH and I have decided to wait three years until we TTC, but I love when cute babies come on tv and he goes "awww" I love that! Especially since in his younger days he thought he didn't want a family. He's always oohing and aahing now at little baby things :)
This week is normal for me. Off work in 7 minutes and heading to class for the next three hours. Ugh. Not too bad though. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend!
On a pretty exciting front-DH has his THIRD interview this Friday for a job he really wants! I think by the third interview, it's either he will have a job soon or it's back to the drawing board. He's been doing side work though so that's good. I will update on Friday whether or not he gets it!!
Other than that....nice to hear from you ladies! I can't wait until spring as well!!
Thank you, Jenny! (And Olivia!) @Jenny: It's funny that you mentioned ratatouille, because DH and I just watched the movie the other night. Hehe! It was SO super cute!! Yes, two adults with no kids yet sat and watched a Disney movie in the middle of the week. Sometimes they are just good for the soul :-)
@Elise: Good luck to your DH on that interview. That is so great!! Sending you guys happy thoughts. AND -- for probably the fifth time -- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your profile pic! It is super hot! :-D
@Olivia -Aww, being sick (especially with a little one) is no fun at all! Hope you're both feeling better! So funny about the recipes since I'd ordererd a custom made recipe box in hope it'll inspire me to find some new recipes and get into cooking (I only recently started lol -DH was the cook!)
@Debbie -20 weeks already!? That seemed to have gone by quickly! I remember with Megan the 1st trimester and a part of the 2nd trimester seemed to have DRAGGED on and then the rest flew by! Of course I think the arrival of spring helped as well! Don't worry, DH & I watch Disney movies (even when Megan's asleep!) ALL the time :) Ratatouille is one of my favourites! In fact, DH (yes, DH!) has a collection of Disney/Pixar movies :) Definitely enjoy your time as a couple + fur baby -baby will be here before you know it! Have you decided if you're going to find out the sex?
@Jenny -Hope you get some energy back soon! I'll have to try ratatouille sometime -I've never had it before :)
@Elise -Aww, that's good about your DH changing his mind about babies -sometimes it just takes a bit of time for guys to realize they want to start a family :) 3 interviews? I hope that means good news, otherwise that's kind of cruel! Hope your classes are going well!
As for me, I'm just plodding along... trying to get into the working out thing -it's proving harder than I thought! I'm trying to resist chocolate and treats but it's difficult, especially since I'm home all day! We bought a lightweight stroller in preparation for our trip to England since the one we have is way too bulky for the plane. Other than that, not too much to report!
Have a great week everyone! :)
Oh, and DITTO on spring coming! I've been feeling trapped inside because I don't want to bring Megan out into this cold :(
It sounds like everyone has a lot going on!
@Olivia...glad both you and LO are feeling better!
@Debbie...1/2 already!? I cannot believe it haha! Congrats again...so excited for you. Enjoy your time with DH, it sounds like you guys are having a blast.
@Jenny...I hope you start to feel a bit better soon! I love trying new recipes--how did the fishcakes or ratatouille turn out?
@Elise...sending tons of good luck vibes to your DH! Hopefully he finds something that will make him happier than his last job did. Definitely keep us updated!
@Steph...I agree with you about being home making it harder to resist treats! When are you guys leaving for England?
I've had a pretty relaxed week. My Mom and I went to visit my sister and her family and we got in very late Tuesday night. It was an...interesting trip. That much together time wasn't the best thing for us (my sister and I). We are very different, her husband is very different than mine, so I was kind of...irritated all week. I have never been more thrilled to be home with my sweet, loving DH than I was Tuesday night.
A while back I posted in the TTC group that DH would be having his vasectomy reversed at the end of January. It ended up getting postponed because of his boss needing time off and he had to take more responsiblity. Thankfully, that is *just* about over. We knew it would be temporary, so we are just waiting now. It will hopefully be schedule for the first part of March and we can start TTC 3 weeks after. Woohooooooooooo!!!
Hope all of you have had a GREAT week!!
@Jess -We leave on the 18th!! I totally feel you on the whole being home for too long -my mom & I are like that, we are really close but if I'm at my parents' for more than a couple of days (lol) she drives me batty haha! That's great about you DH -I hope the appt. is scheduled in March and you get pregnant soon :)
The fishcakes turned our great but took 3 HOURS!! I was exhausted by the end of it. The Ratatouille also went well and was pretty easy to do so I was happy!
@ Jess - ditto Steph - sending you baby dust!
