Our Weekly Thread, ladies!
Happy Monday my dear PW sisters!!!
Happy belated Monday!!
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted in here... it's been a REALLY weird start to the year so far. It's been full of sad news. On our trip over xmas our family friend who was travelling with us had 2 strokes and passed away on NYD. Then when we got back my grandfather had a heard attack and a mini stroke, he's doing ok now but it was really scary. And today I've found out from my doc that whilst we were TTC he thinks I've had a miscarriage so I'm a bit bleh at the moment!! I guess they say bad things come in 3's so FX that's me done for now!!
How are you girls doing?
Hey Jenny!!! First I want to say, I'm so glad to see you back in the group - you have most definitely been missed!!! I'm so sorry that you have had to go through all of this and you know without a doubt that I'm always here whenever you need a shoulder!
We have had a tough few weeks with schedules, the weather and fighting a cold. I so really need to get out of this area, away from DH's family and their craziness, and our dumb neighbors. It is amazing that all I want to do is be near my close friends and family, and they are all over the east coast, and I/we can't go visit yet. For the last couple of weeks, I have been very homesick for Florida and I'm really not sure why, as I haven't lived there since 2002. Other than that, things are going okay. I'm crocheting some placemats for Valentine's day and making a little blanklet to cover my legs when I'm working. I have a really good feeling that DH and I are going to have a much better year this year though.
I'm also getting ready for the superbowl because on Sunday, I will be planted on the couch eating football food and watching the game. LOL
Hey Becca! Thanks so much, it means a lot! I'm trying to get my ass on these boards much more often - I really miss them!! (and you girls!).
Ack to crazy schedules, but in a way it's good - it'll make time fly faster. I'm sorry you've not been well, take lots of Vit C. As for the homesickness *hugs* do you know when you can go visit?
You are so welcome sweetie and yes, please come back to the boards!!!!
Yes, crazy schedules does make time fly - I actually can't believe we are almost in February. : ). I'm planning on us going to Buffalo during late Spring/early Summer because by then, the snow would have melted. I'm also hoping that towards the end of the year, we will be able to go south to visit. In between those two visits, we are going to be doing some day trips and a few weekends hopefully.
@Jenny -So sorry for the loss of your friend and for your grandfather -wishing him a speedy recovery. Also sorry for the suspected miscarriage -I had a chemical pregancy (basically the embryo attaches itself to the uterus long enough to detect pregnancy on a test but then detaches and you get negatives so unless you're trying and taking tests you would think it was a late period.) That happened in August of 2011 (would've been a honeymoon baby!) Then in October we got our sticky bean and now we have 6 1/2 month old Megan! Hoping for the same for you :)
@Becca -Sorry you've had a rough start to the year. Hoping it gets better for you!! Keeping busy (which sounds like you are!) definitely makes time go by quickly :) I know how hard it is to be apart from family -we used to live about 5 hours away from my parents and I thought that was far away (we would visit once a month.) Now we're 19 hours (!!!) away -we visited over Christmas and they're coming here in April. DH's family's in England so we're going there in a few weeks -looking forward to having them meet Megan :)
-Nothing much is happening for me this week; I'm trying to lose the baby weight -it's proving to be more difficult than I thought :( we're finalizing travel arrangements for our trip and trying to psych ourselves up for 5 hours of flying with a baby -fun! Haha!
Wishing everyone a great week :)
Thanks Steph!! Much appreciated! I'm sorry about your first pregnancy :(
Planning trips are always fun - Where are you off to?
Jenny, sending you positive vibes that things start looking up! So sorry to hear about all of that. :( Good to see you back around here though!
Becca, I really hope your year starts looking up, you deserve the best! I hope you get to see family soon. Oh, and GO NINERS! I am wearing my Niner gear all this week :) Can't wait until the superbowl! Except I have a paper due that night, so I really have to finish it before the game! I basically should be doing hwk right now!! lol.
Steph, Good luck with losing that baby weight!! If you ever need any words of encouragement or anything, you can always pm me! I hear a lot of different stories at the gym, so if you ever want to talk I'm here :D
This week is just homework for me. And hanging with DH. That's it. haha. eh. lol.
@Jenny -We're actually going to England! Don't you live there?! DH is English and his whole family is in Lancashire so we're spending most of our trip there then the last few days in London -it's been 5 years since we've been there (London I mean) We got married in England last July and that was the last time we visited. :)
@Elise -Thank you! I forgot you're a trainer right? I may have to take you up on the offer :) DH bought an eliptical and bike since he wants to lose weight as well -I'm starting slowly since I haven't worked out since before I got pregant. How long would you recommend I do on each? Today I did 10 mins on the eliptical and 15 mins on the bike. Hope you do well on your paper!
@Jenny - So sorry for all you have went through since the New Year! Sending you lots of love and hugs!
@Becca - Awww my Becca! You are probably homesick becaues you have been dealing with unruly neighbors, being sick and the craziness of in laws. When you going through alot, you want people who really love and care about you around to help you get through it! I have been busy crocheting too. It takes my mind off of things! I have to drill superbowl Sunday with my Navy Unit, but hopefully we will get done early. DH son is coming over. Hope you are feeling better!
@Steph - Oh my goodness you are going to England? That is spectacular! Please take lots and and lots of pictures and I am sending you special love for keeping the baby nice and comfortable for a five hour plane ride!
@Elise - Sounds like you are having a great week!
The second job that I had prior I had to reapply for. I did so and the manager said the hold up is the area manager. She insist she did not know I had a full time job and how am I going to attend meetings etc. She knew I had a full time job because she did my evaluation and she knows the manager at my full time job! So I have been looking at other companies. Want to get a move on with my jaw! I talked to my ob-gyn yesterday and did some googling and I am nervous about my hysterectomy. I think I more nervous about the life long affects because I already have issues that may be made worse with the hysterectomy. Plus, the emotions that will come with really not being able to have a baby. Having a hysterectomy makes it so final. Trying to figure out the best time to do it now. I could go on a long vent about being a stepmother, but I will put that in another post. Other than that, I have been crocheting a lot to keep my mind off of things and watching a lot of mindless tv - reality shows. Lol. And hubby has been really supportive with keeping me stress free. We have been cooking dinner together a lot lately and enjoy that immensely!
Hope everyone has a great week! Talk to you soon!
Gosh you gals are awesome! I really wish I had more time to PW but things always seem to take over! Sucks.
@ Steph - yep, I'm in England. I've never been to Lancashire I don't think... but it's so nice that you can come and it's a home away from home :-) I'm in London!
@ Elise - I wish I were more like you and spent more time in the gym.
@ Tressy, it sounds like things aren't so cheery for you... sending you hugs and I'm here if you wanna talk.
Steph, if you are just starting back after a long break, aim for 30 minutes of cardio most days for a couple weeks (whatever form you choose is fine!) After your body gets back into the groove a little bit, then switch it up! :)
Tressy, I'm sorry you're feeling blue too :( That's a lot of changes for your body and mentally too. Good luck with your jobs and everything else-sending you positive vibes!!!
Update: I need everyone to cover their ears because I am screaming with HAPPINESS!!!! As you all know, for the last year things have been a little tight for DH and I, and I have been scrimping, sacrificing and all that other good stuff. With that and all of your positive thoughts and prayers, and a few jobs, things are starting to go in the positive trend. I'm so thrilled, I can't even put it into words and if I wasn't afraid of hurting myself, I'd do a back flip!! LOL
****HAPPY DANCE FOR YOU BECCA***** WAHOOOO
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! That is GREAT!
I did a virtual backflip!
