Have any of you ladies considered welding your engagement and wedding rings together? Have any of the married ladies done this???
hm.... i may b/c the i think it will bother me when they "turn" and I have to keep fixing them.
i'm not...when i do stuff like golf, i don't want to wear my engagement ring...just my wedding band....
that's a really good point, jackie..... any physical activity, really....
I find my rings keep "turning" and its driving me nuts! I was hoping someone on here might have already done it? Wondering if it really helps?!
you might need to have them sized smaller....that should help....they might be too big...
I thought of that, but I find my fingers swell so if I get them sized smaller they will be way to small when they swell....maybe I am destined to have them 'turn"
mine does that a bit too...but it fits slightly tighter with the wedding band behind it...and i'm with you, i don't like it to be tight at all, my fingers are usually a bit puffy when i first wake up, but then by mid-day, it's spinning around my finger....i also don't sleep with mine on....i got a nice ring holder at one of my showers...so it goes on there before i go to sleep!
You can also talk to your jeweler they can sometimes fix the bottom of the ring so that it doesn't turn....
Thanks for your help ladies!
my jeweler dosent recom. it. Only because like the pp, you dont want to wear it when you play sports. Im pretty active and dont wear my e-ring when I am. So when I do get married, I can wear my bands and leave the e-ring at home. Also...we like to travel, so its best if I leave the bling at home.
I'm keeping mine separate too, even though I will probably wear them together most of the time. Just a personal preference.
ditto on seperate. I like the idea of having an option to wear one or both!
My jeweler recommends bonding the e-ring to the wedding band so that 1- they do not shift and turn and 2- so they do not scratch or wear out the metal from rubbing (mine are platinum=soft=lots of scratches). Personally, I am not going to do it, at least not now. Maybe in the future.
I will be getting my rings welded together.. it'll actually be 3 rings total (the one FI proposed with, and the custom finished e-ring with wedding band).. I desire all the rings to become "one" ring..
hmmm never heard of it before! i guess it could work...
I am not welding mine together because my mom is passing her band down to me and I plan on passing it down to my daughter/son (for his wife) in the future.
As many of the ladies have said before, between travel, sports, and mmilitary, it will be nice to leave the e-ring at home and have just the band to wear. I will not be welding
My BM did it and she regrets it because she wants a new setting for her e-ring, but they are welding together so it will cost more to change the setting out
My rings are all joint together and I like it that way. I was told that the rings turn and rub againts each other and damages the sides when not welded together. I have a simple band with channel setting(anniversary ring) that I wear when I go hiking or do outdoor stuff.
Personally I do not like the look of a welded ring. It's nice to have to option to separate the two. Like with what jackieg said, when doing physical activities or sports its best to just wear the wedding band alone! KWIM? Having to keep adjusting your ring shouldn't be a big prob... so long as the ring is properly fit
I welded mine together right before our wedding. Thinking about it more and more I wear my engagement ring for everything I do and if I do any kind of sport or activity I would take both off so I wouldn't damage either of them. You can't tell my rings are welded because they are welded underneath at the back of the band. My jeweler did a great job. It looks exactly the same as when I wore them together but they stay in place and don't spin. I guess it would depend on the type of e-ring and band. It works for me.
