Went to an outdoor wedding this weekend

I went to an outdoor wedding this weekend. It was a really beautiful location in the South Bay. I think it will look awesome in pictures. Only problem was that it was kind of hot this weekend so I got a bit uncomfortable. Reminded me to pray for cool weather for my wedding and try to set up as much shade as possible.

It's funny how differently you look at weddings once you've planned or had your own! All I could think about was all the little details they planned out and figuring out who planned what and what they were going for.

Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

I agree with you about how you do look at weddings differently once you planned/had your own.

I was telling Margaret recently how I went to a wedding and there were these huge roses for pew flowers and they were beautiful. During the ceremony, this little girl was pulling the pew flowers and messing up the arrangement. Her parents did little to stop her and my heart was just breaking that the flowers did not look the same after that.

Rosy you're so right! Before planning a wedding, I would have not even noticed and thought it was cute. Now that I know how much work it is to put a wedding together, I would feel so bad for the bride because I know she probably put so much thought (and money!) into those flowers.

I took notes when i was guest. We went to a wedding last summer and it was unseasonably hot. I was shocked that with this heat wave there had been no preparation to make the guests comfortable. The bride and groom basked in the shade while we all suffered in the sun. Note Taken: be sure to provide parasols and water for guests in case of heat. I also took note that I didn't really like having a buffet unless done in an orderly fashion.

I agree with soon2bwilcox. If you're going to have an outdoor wedding, make sure to provide shade for your guests (especially for the older relatives!).

Hahaha... yes, when I go to weddings now, I can't help but look at all the details of the ceremony and the reception. You pick things up really fast, and if you haven't had your wedding yet, you try to see what things work and don't work and try to improve them for your own wedding.

Then again, I am an event planner by trade, so I definitely pay more attention to the details!
