what about this for a centerpiece?

you can see in my profile what I want to use, but they are abit expensive. what do you think about these, if i paint them black and then add red votives around it as well as the crystal confetti?

I like them the way they are, they still go with your color scheme. Will your venue allow them?? (they arent enclosed containers)

I like them - but they might be hard to paint if you can't remove the crystals.  Also, if your venue won't allow open flames, then you could get a cheap glass cylinder or something to put around the candle on top.  they sell them at hobby lobby, etc.
