What Are Your Christmas Eve/ Day Plans?

What do you do on Christmas Eve/Day:

Are you cooking? (what's on the menu?)

Going out? (family, friends)

Staying In? (if so, what are you going to do?)

My parents always have the Xmas Eve holiday party at the house, so that's the plan! I will be baking the secret recipe I have for Red Lobster's biscuits for my mom's crab soup! There is always tons of food!

I don't have a definite plan for Xmas day yet, but surely it will be split between running to and from my family's house and FI's family's house!

We will be at my sisters Christmas eve day/early evening and will come home to sleep - it's not fair to make everyone deal with my 2 munchkins at stupid'o'clock on Christmas morning!!

I'm making sausage rolls and toffee bars like my Mom always makes and my sister is going to do various chilli/pasta/casserole dishes - a crock-pot buffet!!

Christmas day is back to my sister for the day. My dad (yay) and step-monster (boo) are coming from England this weekend and my brother & FSIL are driving down at the start of next week so we'll all have lots of time together. This is the first Christmas I'll have spent with my dad & grandad since I was 12 so it's exciting.....but it's the first ever without my Mom so it's also very very sad :(

I love Red Lobster biscuits, that is the only thing I can eat there (and a baked potato, lol), because I am allergic to all seafood...you need to share that recipe, lol.

Canooknic - you have a very busy weekend planned!  mmmm...Toffee Bars...you should share that recipe too, lol!

Christmas eve, we are  going to play board games and then we send the boys to bed at about 9 pm, and then we start wrapping all of their gifts, we do not put gifts under the tree before Christmas, this has been a long standing tradition since I was a little girl, so when they wake up Christmas morning the gifts have been delivered by Santa!

Christmas Day -We are doing A Feliz Navidad menu.  I am making homemade Chicken Enchiladas, Shredded Beef Soft Tacos, Nacho Casserole, Pork Tostadas & Mexican Rice & Black Beans and all the fixings (sour cream, shredded cheeses, guacamole, salsas, lettuce, tomatos, onions, jalepenos, and tortillas).  I orderd Chicken Tamales from a place in Texas, so I am waiting on those to be delivered!  Winter Sangria for FI & I, and Virgin Daquiri's for the boys.  And a Strawberry Shortcake (so not mexican, but I am getting it from a mexican bakery) and Homemade Margarita Cupcakes.  Watch movies and help the boys put together their toys and watch them play.

We usually make dinner reservations for Christmas, but this year there were no open slots in the few restaurants that are opened on Christmas.  I definitely didn't want any traditional Christmas food after all that I cooked on Thanksgiving...so I thought, Mexican food it is!

I'm not sure what I am doing this year since my FBIL is hosting Christmas in San Antonio for myself and my future-in-laws.

Christmas eve with my family is usually a family party with lots of appetizers and drinks. At midnight, we pray, sing Christmas carols, then open presents! We spend Christmas morning sleeping in, then we lounge around the house all day with family and have a nice home cooked dinner

Christmas Eve (morning)- We always go to my moms sisters house for an early morning breakfast and gift exchange.

Christmas Eve (evening)- We always go to my dads sisters house for gift exchange and deserts! =)

Christmas- In past years we would go to FIs moms house and then make the trip to my parents house, but since FIs mom moved, that is going to be IMPOSSIBLE this year. So, we decided to host dinner at our house. Not sure what we are going to have on the menu yet.. FI will do most of the cooking so I will have to check with him! =) I'm not even sure who is going to be coming over for dinner! LOL

apm2012 - That is the one thing I miss!  We live in Philadelphia, and all of my family is in Chicago, and all of his family is in North Carolina, so the holidays, it's just us and our boys, but I  miss those days of a house full of family and everyone laughing and joking with each other.

So Christmas Eve is my FI's birthday, so we act like Xmas eve doesn't really exist.  We go to his Grandma's for lunch and birthday cake!!! :)

On Christmas Day we go to his Grandpa's, Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Rolls, etc.  Then we are going to my Parents and we are doing things a little un-traditional this year.  We are bringing Mini Beef Wellingtons and I believe my mom is doing a Cheese Fondue and a Cranberry Mojito.  We all love appetizers so much so we figured we'd make a meal out of it!!! :)

Hhmm nothing to exciting. We will probably visit DH's family. I usually make DH homemade hot chocolate and cookies. We do gifts around 10am. DH doesn't put my gifts under the tree, he usually surprises me. So go to the bathroom and I when I come back my gifts are on the bed or I'll go downstairs to start christmas cooking and my gift is on the kitchen counter.

We always spend X-mas Eve at my parents house.  We usually fondue, but they may be making prime rib this year instead.  We use to go to church then, but it hasn't happened the last few years with the babies.  IDK if we will this year or not!  We then open all of our presents from this side of the family & drink white russians :)

Then Christmas Day we will be going to the ILs house & eating & opening gifts there!

Christmas Eve will be spent partly at work (yuck!!!) and then DH, pup and I are going to my mom's house for the night.  We will have dinner and open gifts.  It's going to be so sad this year because my baby brother is moving to Louisiana this week, and it'll be the first Christmas without him there.

Christmas day we are doing breakfast with my mom's family and then jumping in the car to drive up to Raleigh for DH's family's christmas.  THEN we head back down to my hometown and Christmas again with my dad's family.  I am going to be exhausted!
