What do you plan to do after the wedding?

I want to hear what each of you are going to do AFTER your wedding!

I know we are only renewing our vows, but we do have plans for afterwards.

If I am not pregnant right this minute, We will be updating the house in preperation to sell it and move to a more city like environment. I am feeling isolated out here in rural NH.

We will be planning our sons H.S. graduation party and helping him get ready for his career in the US ARMY. He wants to be front lines. How scary is that? I told him He best not turn a Blue star to gold.

Do you have a goal you wish to accomplish as a married couple?

If you are married what was one thing you wanted to do, but found you could not?
How did you handle it?

I wanted to have that fairy tale after we were married. We had our son and life was good, but we had to move because the costs were too high and I could not afford daycare and work. So we moved to a smaller place.

One thing wonderful we had not expected was how much we loved being together. I mean we just loved sitting and talking. When you are planning a wedding your relationship changes. Your focus changes and after instead od feeling a let down I felt relaxed. We really got to grow as a couple.

Our main goal after the wedding has been to build up our savings again :)

We did move into a bigger place, and although would like to buy a house, we are thinking we like this place so much now that we may try to buy it from our landlord maybe next year. It is a condo so much cheaper than a house, but it's perfect for us. No yard work. lol. We just enjoy spending time together as well. We don't plan to have kids any time soon, and hopefully go on some vacations together!

Uhlease you are very well thought out! I rented an all inclusive condo when we started out. I liked condo living. Infact I miss it greatly.

I guess with DH on business this week I am feeling lost.

i guess our goal would be to get a house..and another baby ;) but those would have been our golas for 2013 regardless if we got married or not. DH owns a fullservice landscaping company, and recently got a new plow truck because we are supposed to have a very snowy winter, so between that (finger crossed!) and the fact that i just accepted a job offer on saturday (woo!!), and me getting more kids (i am an at home day care provider right now, and have 3 prospective kids whose parents im meeting with this week) im hoping we can finally get our butts in gear to move and have baby #2! DH wants 2 kids, and im fine with just the one we have, but my clock is tickin, so if im not pregnant by the spring of 2014, my factory will be closed!

First I must say just loving being married. . . .Still floating on cloud nine. . .

Just looking forward to making more memories! In the near future we are planning Cale's parents 50th Wedding Anniversary in February. We are so looking forward to doing this! Looking forward to our photo shoot for our 1st anniversary in June. Cale is already planning my big 40th Birthday Bash in September. I can't wait! Cale has definitely decided to retire in 2014. He really wants to move to Georgia (I don't) but where ever he leads I will follow! With the economy the way it is, our house is not going to sale for what he paid for it, put into it and still owes and there is no way Cale will just walk away from it to move to Georgia. So the plan is if we can't sell the house (I don't think we will in the timeframe he would like to) we are going to have some upgrades done.

I love house decorating! I love getting to move furniture and get new furniture in. It is what every little girl dreams of.

I know what you mean about the housing market. I think we will end up renting ours out.

I really wish I could be allowed to adopt an older child. Stupid system is broken. I mean so what if I have BiPolar I have NEVER tried to hurt anyone else nor have I hurt anyone else. I even asked for a Boy age 12 color/race does not matter. I mean that child would be so spoiled in my house. Damn system. While I can afford to go over seas to adopt I really hate traveling. I am not that kind of girl. So, now I am back to trying to have my own. Too many MC's to be too hopeful.

I tried in home daycare, but parents would never pay me and they refused to pay inadvance so that is why I went back to Web Development. At least they pay MOST of the time! If not site goes down that simple.

Soon after we get married our boys start kindergarden so I will be focusing on getting our yard landscaped and our basement finished - ideally we will be able to make a start on both before the wedding.
Once they are done I will be looking at starting my card/invitation business, and/or getting a part-time job somewhere

When we got married our plan was to move to Kentucky (which we did) and go back to school (which we did). We are in school now and living in an apartment. The next step for us is once our lease is up we want to move into a bigger apartment and get a dog!

Dogs and for that matter all fur babies seem to make a house feel like home. I know my marriage did not feel complete until we added our first ferret Emma. She was an amazing pet. That was all we could have in an apartment. I was thrilled when we got Sebastian and when he passed at age 13 I was devestated so we got Isis a year later.

Good luck in your search for a larger apt and all your goals!

RaniaK, When I went through that Years ago now, I wrote out what my dream job looked like. Who my clients were and what they looked like and where the job was located.

Now, I work with primarily woman owned small start-up businesses and build custom affordable websites for them.

I also found a way to share office space and barter for a few things that I needed/wanted.

If I can help you with some tips and tricks I would be glad to share, but I would start with what does your dream job look like to you.

Cheers!

After the wedding and hopefully a smooth proccess with immigration me and my guy can move to a better city. With more opportunity and Diversity. Hoping he can get into school somewhere. Finally learn how to drive and get a license do some traveling! He grew up with nothing and i want him to see the world and do everything he has always wanted. As for me i want to finally follow my dreams of photojournalism or just photography in general. My task are a little different than most. But it still exciting and im hopeful!

IdoAgain20years this is a great question.  We thought we would look for a house after the wedding but DH lost his job and is back in school.  This was a blessing in disquise because he is going back to school to do what he absolutely loves and is great at. He was not treated or valued at his job in the first place.  They tried to not give him unemployment and he petitioned and got it.  The judge was so surprised he was let go because he did nothing wrong.

After the wedding a few not so great things happened to us.  We had a though first year but it made us stronger.  Our car was stolen, DH lost his job, my ring was lost when DH brought it to get resized, and a few more things I have chosen to not remember on purpose happened. Lol – they involved my crazy mother.  It was so hard but we grew so much stronger as a couple.

I am finishing a more advanced degree this coming summer and DH will be done next winter.  We both work parttime and are in school as well.  We have put off getting a house until 2014.

Something I learned along the way was to get furniture/home decor I saw myself with in the long run. I just don’t just buy it because I think it looks nice for now.  I also learned to be more patient and less materialistic.  At the end of the day, I have my loving husband, food, shelter, family, and friends.

After the wedding we made our partnership better.  It was great to start with but because of the events that took place, it made each of us even less selfish.

I hope we can get a little 3 bed room house in about two years.  Our grandmas are patiently waiting for great-grand-children.  They do not have any yet.  Hopefully in three years we will have a little one followed by another.  I am hoping for two girls and DH doesn’t care about the gender of our children.

khrystena1985  I wish you all the best with immigration. I was born and raised here. My mother's side had been here for a long while.

My Father's Father immigrated from England during WWII he was sent here originally to be protected from the war and when he came of age joined the U.S. Army which is how he got his citizenship. He purposefully lost his British accent and I often forget that he actually grew up in England because of it.

pinktulip I am glad that you liked this question. I was hoping that new brides might pickup a trick or two and for those who have been married awhile help each other through lifes not-so-little-ride of life. Having been married as long as we have been has been no easy feat, but I can tell you I prefer this to what I grew up with.

Dreams do come true even if a lttle out of order. I am glad that you have found your own way to be happy. I know what it feels like to want to be somewhere MORE than where you are, but those things will happen.

The one thing I am glad to hear is that you are all becoming stronger together though I am not sure I would see posts contradicting this given the nature of the website and maybe that is something that helps too. I did not have this sort of forum when I got married 20 years ago and Buletin Boards were much more "DRAMA" if you will. It seemed like they fed the negative aspects of life.

Thank you all for sharing your hopes and dreams and even some of the downsides. Because I know it is worth the ride and My husband and I are willing to commit to that ride a second time.

Congrats on the home renovation and I wish you the best with the TTC leni8!

It is fun practicing! I still enjoy practicing. If we end up with #4 I would be thrilled, but 3 is a good number.
