What do you think of photobooth favors/guestbook?

What do you think of a photobooth favor/guestbook? I've never seen one at a wedding in person, but they seem to be all over theknot forums. As a guest, would you rather have photobooth picture favors, or something else (like candy/chocolate or a blanket or a small toy/figuring).

I would have to consider the venue and the feel of your wedding. If it is more of a fun and relaxed wedding, I think a photobooth is a great idea. Otherwise, I'd go with an edible favor rather than some trinket that will likely end up collecting dust.

Hey Margaret... as a guest, I hate getting favors that just create more junk at my house. I'd much rather get something that I can use or something that will remind me of you and Joe's wedding - like a little picture frame and after the wedding, you can send everyone a thank you note with a little picture of your wedding for that frame!

I have actually done a wedding in Menlo Park where the couple rented a photo booth (it was at a country club and they put the photo booth by the cocktail area). The guests had fun with it but they still had a traditional guestbook and wedding favors at each place setting.

I would love to do a photobooth. If I had a choice I would do photobooth. I'm very into pictures and my guests would have so much fun.

i love the idea of a photobooth, but more as a source of entertainment, not as a favor. we were going to do that, but DH thought it would get crazy w/ 360 guest and that it would be difficult to get there attention for important moments.

my friend did it where you would put the picture into the guestbook after, but most people just took it home. the line was super long.

People always look like they have fun in the photobooth pictures. Given that your reception is chinese with lots of food and older relatives, will people go over to the photobooth?

Yay thanks for the feedback! I agree I don't really like trinkets. They kind of clutter up my apartment but I feel so guilty throwing them away, they just kind of pile up!

I love the photobooth idea, though pudgeefeet and zanylany bring up a good point that maybe it wouldn't be good for weddings with a large guest count. I'll have to keep thinking about it.. right now I'm leaning towards not getting one because of the cost.

I would love to have a photo booth, but we are choosing a more affordable alternative. We hired a couple of caricaturist for our cocktail hour.

My cousin had a photobooth at their wedding. It was pretty awesome because after we took the photos we were able to write a message on the photo and then it was placed in a scrap book with our family photo and note. The only thing to condsider is we waited in line for at least 10 min getting the pictures!

I went to a wedding where their photographer had a photobooth set up and it was really fun. We loved it.

I am having a photobooth at my wedding and I couldnt be more excited! I often have been one to leave behind trinkets like picture frames and tablespoon sets, not so much because I dont want them but more of forgetting them.

If you do decide to go with a photobooth, get a bunch of little card bags so people can put the pics in a safe place then into a handbag or coat pocket. Since we are having afterhours it just makes since not to load them down with something they won't enjoy. Also we are given a CD of all the pics so we can laugh at them later, we hope to send them back in Thank You cards as well. They do offer a guest book so they can affix their pix and leave a little note. I say go for it :)

We knew from the beginning that we wanted a photobooth and that we would make it work somehow budget-wise. I booked photobooths interactive a couple weeks ago and hope that it is a big hit. they are a little more expensive than red cheese and others out there,  but you also get a bit more.  They bring 2 attendants with them, one to man the booth and the other to assist guests with the scrapbook that will be our guestbook. THey bring all kinds of fancy pens, stickers and paper to decorate the scrapbook page with, and seem very passionate about making our day very special. Aso, they pride themselves on the fact that they always bring an extra booth in the car "just in case", cause you only have one shot at getting the wedding day right.

BTW  - they just did Ashley Simpson's wedding.
