What Does Your Engagement Ring Say About You?

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-1Did you get an emerald marquise when you became a bride-to-be? Or was only a diamond solitaire acceptable if your guy didn't want to stay solitary? Chances are, when it comes to your engagement ring, the cut, color, and kind of stone you select says something about your personality. If he did the picking, based on our basic descriptions, did your guy choose correctly for the kind of girl you are, or did he lose out on guessing at his true love's lifestyle? Even though these demeanor descriptions might be a bit superficial, there's nothing surface level about how seriously our society takes engagement rings -- according to Psychology Today, the average cost of bridal bling is over $3500! Sound off in the comments on whether or not these suggestions are a ringer for what's on your ring finger! Is your engagement ring represented? Continue to check!

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-2Marquise Cut - You're a smart cookie who knows how to make the most of any situation, whether it's a small savings account or a small stone budget. The way a marquise stone is cut makes it look a lot larger than it actually is! You may be thrifty, but even if you aren't, you watch where your money goes and how it's spent, avoiding waste. A sound selection would be this

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-3Solitare – Hey classy lady! Tradition rules for those who wear a solitare – you may dabble in trends and love the latest fashions, but when it comes to your expensive pieces, you stay close to the classics, like this

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-4Princess Cut – The name says it all – you love being treated like royalty, and it shows-- especially with a regal cut of stone whose name is even like that of a diva! It's hip to be square, and you're on the cutting edge with your fashionably cut engagement ring, that may look like this

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-5Three Stones
– You're a lady who likes to indulge– two may be better than one, but three is the charm! The only thing you want just one of is your husband. Loading up your left hand with three stones is a great way to get the carat up without being too costly, and choices include this

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-6Eternity Band – You're elegantly low key – you like to have a little flair in what you wear, but in an understated way, like with a diamond-encrusted band instead of a single stone, like this

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-7Colored Stone - Your uniqueness doesn't stop with your unusual choice for an engagement ring - you stand out from the pack with whatever you choose to do, and hate to be lost in the crowd of social conformers. Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but unexpected pearls, rubies, or emeralds will call attention to your awesomeness for the lifetime of your love. Get compliments on your creativity with this

What Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-8Halo Setting - Can there be anymore bling on your ring, Ms. Attention Lover? You love to be in the spotlight and your ring does, too! You work hard--and succeed--at sparkling and shining everywhere you go. Available at every price point, and certainly a lot of bling for your buck, the halo setting sparkles and shines so much you might be in danger of summoning Batman, especially with this

No Stone aWhat Does Your Engagement photo 1854929-9t All - Like Carrie on Sex and the City, you don't need a huge stone to flaunt your fiance's love for you, nor do you want to gauge how large your love is by the size of a rock - you're strong-willed and stubborn, confidently refusing to participate in a time-old tradition that started on a whim from an advertising agency! If you're interested in saving money and stress, this will certainly suffice!

My ring is princess cut, but I don't think I necessarily fit that description.  :)  I always preferred the round/cushion cuts but my ring was a complete surprise to me.  I think princess cut is the only kind that would have looked good with the band/setting and I coudn't possibly love any ring more than I love mine!!!  It's so special to me!!!  :)

Well, if you take into account that FI is the one who chose, designed, and selected my ring, that descrpition would be pretty accurate:

Solitare – Hey classy lady! Tradition rules for those who wear a solitare – you may dabble in trends and love the latest fashions, but when it comes to your expensive pieces, you stay close to the classics, like this

But it really doesn't describe me.

I sound like a no stone:

Like Carrie on Sex and the City, you don't need a huge stone to flaunt your fiance's love for you, nor do you want to gauge how large your love is by the size of a rock - you're strong-willed and stubborn, confidently refusing to participate in a time-old tradition that started on a whim from an advertising agency! If you're interested in saving money and stress, this will certainly suffice!

but I got a princess cut:

I sound like a photo 1855424-1

I don't fit that description at all, sometimes I think it's too much for me since I'm not a blingy fasionista by any means but I figured you only get one e-ring, why not get something gorgeous!

mine is a mix between

Solitare – Hey classy lady! Tradition rules for those who wear a solitare – you may dabble in trends and love the latest fashions, but when it comes to your expensive pieces, you stay close to the classics, like this

and

Eternity Band – You're elegantly low key – you like to have a little flair in what you wear, but in an understated way, like with a diamond-encrusted band instead of a single stone, like this

except it's unique because it isn't a continuous band, but bends under the main diamond...hard to explain! but a picture is worth a thousand words ;)

mine is a mix photo 1855425-1
