What I realized after having a baby......

I don't really like newborns, unless they are someone else's.  They are exhausting, life sucking little creatures.

Ok, I know that sounds bad but we are LOVING Blake now that he's gotten older and is growing so much more.  Like he's now discovered his hands and that he can touch/feel/grab stuff.  It's so much fun to see him get excited about things.  Not that I didnt love him as a newborn but all he did was literally eat, sleep, poop, and cry.  After a month of that it gets old. haha

I feel like I would take those newborn days again...G slept thru the night from 8 weeks to 18 weeks....now, ugh...waking all night long...we are exhausted...but it's all worth it...I remind myself we tried for 4 years to have her...and went thru things I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy...mantra: this too shall pass!!

Idk, I love the newborn stage minus the waking up every couple of hours at night. We are just exhausted!!!

I agree, it get so much better when you receive rewards (hands touching, smiles) for all your hard work!

I can't wait to see my LO reach those milestones, but at the same time I get sad when I think about time passing by. I got sad when we had to switch to size 1 diapers.. I'm so weird!

I'm not a newborn fan either, anything from around 6 months and I'm hooked.

I discovered a little while ago that i could raise a child through different members of my family based on their favourite ages - my sister loves newbies, I like 6-18 months, my BIL loves toddlers, my FSIL likes pre-school and my Mom loves them from around 6-7 years.....I wish I'd know that before I struggled through 5 years with my boys!!! Lol

I can't say I'm a fan of newborn stage either. I want to get to the stage where he is taking regular naps during the day. As for Alexis at 2.5 she tires me out but she is amazing, I love being able to talk to her and she talk back lol she tells me she loves me... It warms my heart :)

I guess I will have to wait until my LO is a little older so that I can compare! The newborn stage hasn't been too bad for us so far, although I definitely feel like a milk machine most days. It will be really nice to have more interaction with my son beyond just feeding!

And Lauren - I'm the same way! I was looking at my little newborn the other night and teared up at the thought of him getting bigger. Now I understand why people say they wish their babies would stay little forever! They are just so sweet!
