What is the common trend for addressing save the dates?

I am getting married over Memorial day weekend 2009 and so I plan on sending my save the dates next month. I know its customary to use a calligrapher for addressing wedding invitations, but what about save the date invitations? Are people handwriting the addresses on the envelope neatly or are they using calligraphers for save the dates envelopes too? Thanks....

I just sent some out this weekend and i just used a very nice fountain pen and did  elegant simple cursive writing. they looked nice and had that personal touch.

I ended up writing them just because they are kind of like an "announcement" it's not as formal as the invitations but it's really your preference.

Thanks everyone for your tips/ideas! I will definitely be saving some money on not using a calligrapher for my save the dates!
