Mine is Always, in all ways - Kenny Loggins (:
my father died before my wedding but i never really had planned on dancing with my dad. i grew up in a home where we never danced. the churchs i went to as a child taught that dancing was bad. now that i am older, i dont believe that and my mother doesnt either. but since we knew some of the wedding guest would still feel this way, i decided to have a first dance with my husband and that was the only dancing we did. all the wedding i went to growing up never had dancing either.
My father daughter dance song was "Blessed" by Elton John
My father daughter will be "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisie.
I need to sit down with dad and see what he would like. :)
That's a good idea i did ask my dad what he wanted to do and we had a mutal agreement on the song i picked.
I danced with my dad to "I loved her first" by heartland
My dad and I aren't really the traditional, ballady type, so we went with 'Cherrybomb' by John Mellencamp. That was always 'our' song when I was little, I always wanted my Daddy to pick me up and dance with me...the plan was to play a home movie of us dancing to it when I was baby in the background during our dance...but the DJ couldn't get the disc to play so we ended up just rocking out like crazy people for no real reason :p
haha great! my dad is very traditional.. so he want it normal.. I was wanted something different, but anyway I have still time to change his mind :P
We danced to My Girl. We liked that is wasn't super sappy or slow.
We danced to Butterfly Kisses. It's a crazy long song though and I know attention spans are short, so we cut it in half lol.
My real father died three years ago but I would have danced to "I love you more than I can say by" Leo sayer. He use to write that in my cards when I was a little girl and we just carried it on through the years. So every card and letter was signed I love you more than I can say on anything hat was sent by the other.
Including the final time I wrote in on the card for the flowers at his funeral :( I miss my daddy!
I'm not really all that close to my step-father but he will be walking me down the isle and I think we may dance to Daughters by John Mayer.
We did Paul Simon "Father and Daughter" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COQPSoRFdwg
Paul Simon "Father and Daughter" will be my dance song for my wedding
