What's your grocery budget like?

Are you typically over or under?

We are ALWAYS over!!! We just decided last night that we need to 'up' it a bit...we spend alot on food b/c eating well is important to us and it usually ends up being about $500 a month just for the 2 of us... (not going out for dinner, just groceries). I think that is insane but we have such a tough time cutting back!

We rarely eat out though...

You?

I'm always over budget too. Especially since fruit is sooo good right now!! I try to spend around $100 each week, but it's not really working out. at least $25 of that is fresh fruit, so maybe in the winter I'll save more?! lol.

We spend between $100 - $125 every 2 weeks for the 2 of us. I've become pretty good at shopping sales and using coupons. :) We usually eat out once or twice during that time too.

We're always over too! It's really hard because we have to buy groceries once a month, so we budget like $300 and I always end up spending about $450. OOPS. lol

OVER! We usually spend around $100-$125 per week but I have been working on reducing this by cooking at home more andl eating out less. I am 33 weeks pregnant so of course betwen the cravings and 'over eating' for 2, we have not really been able to reduce our grocery budget at the moment. Hopefully I can get it under control in the coming months. We love to eat in our household lol!!

I spend between $50-$70 a week for the two of us.  I'm pretty good about staying within that.

Gosh! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! lol. I spend about 120 every two weeks and usually end up buying about 20-50 dollars worth the weeks in between. I hate that everything healthy is everything that will BREAK your budget!!!

I was JUST looking at our joint account, crying.  :(  We spend waaaaay too much in food, and I honestly can blame my hubby for most of it.  He's a big eater, doesn't look at pricetags, HAS to get meat for every single meal, etc...plus I don't have my own car so I can't do the shopping because he's always working late, so he comes home with BAGS of things for ONE meal.  Grr.

I DO, however, blame myself for the lunches.  Since I can't get to the store most of the time, I have to "eat out".  Once in a while I'll bring left-overs, or frozen dinners, but it's just so frustrating because every little thing adds up and he doesn't care.

SO SORRY...I just needed to get that out because it's so frustrating.  :(  I have no one to vent to about this...his Mom is literally steps away from us but she and my fil are the same way, so non-chalant about their money.  I hate spending so much and not having anything to show for it but a huge a** and thicker thighs. :/ Ho hum...so sorry ladies, I'm just feeling sorry for myself.  Thanks SO much for letting me get this off my chest.

we eat out so much, but when I try to do groceries.. it does come in at about 100 or so a week because I like to buy healthy food when I buy groceries... because I feel like that's why I'm spending my precious time there.  the days we each just get food out though ... it's at least $20 a day.  We still eat out several meals a week even if i buy groceries though.  I really don't like cooking.
