What's your holiday weekend strategy?

How are you planning to stay on your weight loss program this weekend?  Or, will you take the weekend off?

I'm going to try to be moderate as best I can.  I'm hanging out with my best friend and...eating healthy is not his forte.   So, it's going to be a challenge.

One thing we did when I was with him for 4th of July weekend, I had this STRONG urge for a cheeseburger, onion rings and a shake.  Like, crazy strong, it was all I could think about all day.  So, we walked to a Dennys which is about a mile and a half or so from his house, ate, and walked back.  I enjoyed my meal with no guilt and on Monday morning, I was still own I think half a pound for that week.  I felt like it was a good compromise and it taught me that I can splurge once in a while, but I've gotta earn it!  ;)

Let us know your plans for dealing with a weekend that is sure to be packed with delicious, high-calorie foods!

That's a really great idea Lo! I never thought to walk my way to my treats. :)

There's no Memorial Day in Australia, but DH and I go on our second mini-moon this weekend and it includes all-day access to the Hilton's executive lounge (free snacks and soft drinks all day, free buffet breakfast every morning and free pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the evening) and we also have a gourmet dinner booked at a 5 star restaurant AND, and I'll have access to Starbucks and McDonalds for the first time in SIX MONTHS. :( I picked a hell of a week to start eating healthy.

We'll be doing a lot of walking around the city and I will be in the hotel's gym an hour every morning with DH. He's holding me accountable. I know if I let myself go this weekend it'll be 2 more pounds to lose next week and that would be the difference between reaching and missing my monthly goal. blehhh
