When friends ask you details abt the wedding....

are you telling or keeping it vague?

when they ask what kind of dress, are you telling the style or throwing them off completely?

what abt hair, are you telling them what your vision is, showing pics?

I haven't gotten a lot of questions abt dress...

Some ask about the veil (i.e MIL and a couple friends), and I told them I'm getting a birdcage veil. MIL look a lil perturbed lol (old fashion) and others were like cool! Then some asked about hair...and only close friends I told and even showed a pic.

From this day fwd, I am going to say the opposite. I feel like I can't keep letting the cat out of the bag and want that element of surprise.

Oh and the shoes? 3 ppl have seen my shoes thus far and that's where it'll stay!

i really didn't care if people knew the details of the wedding before hand.  experiencing it first hand is always different from trying to visualize it.  plus i have tons of stuff on pinterest.  the pins that were related to what i wanted for my wedding pretty much all had comments from me on them.  so anyone could have figured out a lot of what i wanted by spending the time and going through my boards.

if you really want to keep things a surprise, then just start telling people you want to keep the details of the wedding a surprise.  i wouldnt miss lead them.

I don't mind to tell my friends about my wedding details, I also ask two of them to shopping with me to find the wedding dress, because they can give me some advice and help me to pick out which one is the best.

I didn't go into detail...my dress was 'simple', my bouquet was 'different'.

I don't think people will be offended if you tell them that you'd like to keep your details a secret - lots of brides like to wow their guests on the day

I agree I think if you just tell people you don't want to spoil the surprise that should be enough.

I agree with you Linn, there are some details that I am choosing to share and some that I am preserving for the big day.  Even my FI is unaware of a few details about the wedding that I am saving just for him.
