Where to get married!? Help me!

Hi,

I am newly engaged and I am trying to figure out a great venue that is reasonable in price.  The areas we would like to have our wedding/reception at are Santa Clarita, Burbank, Ventura, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and possibly Pasadena.  I am open to differnt venues, ones that are all inclusive and ones that you only rent the location and bring in your own vendors. Please help me! I am having trouble finding different places online and I really want to find the best place to get married but that isn't super expensive!!

Hope you all can help me!!

I started by using this site:

http://www.herecomestheguide.com/

But you can do alot of searching on PW too.  Most country clubs/golf courses, restaurants, halls etc host weddings.  You just need to decide on a price and get shopping.  I also just did "wedding venue" searches on the internet and got lots of interesting results.

We are getting married at the Castaway in Burbank their packages are all inclusive, and offer a variety of packages that fit any budget.

-Good luck!

Hello! how "reasonable" are you talking? I live in the same area, so I will list all the places I checked out. most of the places i went were all inclusive, most venues have their own food service so its required you use theirs.

I got married at Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita.

There is the Hyatt Valencia, The Castaways in Burbank, Odyssey in Granda Hills, Porter Valley Country Club, Knollwood Golf Course, Woodranch Golf course (Simi), Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Malibou Mountain Lake Club in Agoura, The Vineyards (simi)

Those are just some of the places we looked at. I didn't look in the Ventura/Camarillo/Pasadena areas.

What is your budget? The cheapest of the places I saw was Malibou Mountain Lake Club. I've been to a wedding there and it was very nice. I believe Chiavari chairs were included in the package if I remember correctly. It also depends what kind of place you are looking for. Beach? Golf Course? hotel? I found ALOT of places in HereComestheGuide, so definitely pick one of those up (they sell them in stores, I got one at Ralphs).

Let me know if you needed any other rec's in the area. :) I know of good florists, dress shops, MUA, bakery's and photographers (and I am a photographer as well!) Happy planning!

Thank you, lindajnsn! I will definietly have to check out the website!!

Mg16 - I have heard Castaways is a great place to get married.  I contacted them to get their prices and they are pretty reasonable.  Im going to schedule an appointment to check out the place and see what they have to offer.  I hear the view is amazing! You will have to let me know how it all turned out after you get married! Thanks for the info!

mm45737- My fiance and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and we actually just bought a house together so we have a pretty tight budget....about $10,000 - $15,000.  We are inviting about 130 people so I hope we can make it work! I emailed Robinson Ranch and they wanted us to spend a min of $12,000 with the amount of people we are having.  I am meaning to email them to see what exactly that includes...maybe you could tell me?  I am open to many different kind of venues (hotels, golf course, etc) just not the beach.  What were the dress shops you went to?  I heard Chantilly's in Newhall is a great place...I am going to check them out.  We are looking into getting estimates from photographers....who would you recommened?  Do you do engagement/wedding photos?  If so, do you have a website I can look at and what would you charge??  Thank you soo much for all the information...I really appriciate it!! Take care!

Have you considered a Friday or Sunday wedding, and getting married on an off season ? The limits are less and vendors will work with your budget.

I would suggest a Friday or a Sunday wedding at Malibou Lake!  Also check out the Marvimon and Smoggshop

i'd also suggest a sunday wedding, most venues offer a discount on sundays and if you do a lunch reception you'll probably be able to save on drinks too. check out mission inn riverside (all inclusive), and smoggshop (only the venue).

congrats and happy planning!
