"Whether you like it or not"

THAT is what my SIL/BM told me today when I was talking about possibly getting the girls flowers for their hair..... apparently she bought herself a huge FEATHER hairpeice that she intends on wearing "whether I like it or not"... well.. I DON'T LIKE IT and she will NOT be wearing it!!!!!! None of my other girls are wearing anything, it doesn't go with the look of anything and never did she mention this before.

In an attempt at being civil, I sent her an e-mail letting her know I would like her to wear the flower for the formal pictures to maintain the coordination and she can wear her hairpeice afterwards.

Am I over reacting?

Ha! Not at all. You're even comprimising! Does she usually have a "whether you like it or not?" attitude?

Nope!  Does her huge feather have a fedora attached to it? Is she strolling the beaches in Miami to pick up chicks?  Then she can just relax and wear the hair flower, IMO.

I felt like I had to compromise for the sake of keeping the peace!! She has changed towards me ever since FI proposed 2 years ago...and I have NO idea why. He doesn't see it.. but I have felt it. I'm such a mellow person and hate confrontation... but she literally told this to my face today in front of other people... and did I mention she is 34 years old? I was floored... I mean if she had asked me privately it would have been one thing but she literally stared me down and shrugged and said her comment!

My fear is she is going to ignore me and we will have a showdown at the bridal salon when her feather makes an appearance.... and I think I will LOSE IT at that point. I'm just trying to calm things down from now so that I won't have to stress about whether or not she is going to pull a tantrum!

FI was SHOCKED today... and is totally saying no thank you to the feather.... but holy c$ap... like seriously?? Does she need to pull this BS?

Tricky.. LOLOL no beaches or Miami...... hahaha

Honey, there doesn't need to be a showdown. This is your day. There is no "Whether you like it or not." There is, "You do what I say, or you get to sit down and be a guest, and not a bridesmaid."

Just keep your cool, and don't let her get to you. If she's changed, that's on her. You can tell her directly, "If you like it that much, you wear it to someplace appropriate. To my wedding is not appropriate if you want to be a member of the wedding party."

(I have had to do this. You'll do fine. No need to stress, no drama. She gets in line or she sits down.)

LOL @TrickyNik and ChrisNScott.

I like the idea of making it mysteriously disappear.

Sorry, Girlly. What a beast.

Ugh!  It's your day!  What you say goes!!!  If she doesn't like it she doesn't need to be in the wedding.

Is she married? If she has had her own wedding then she should understand it is your day. If she is not married she must be jealous of all the attention you are getting.

I would definately make sure the feather hairpiece mysteriously vanished!  Who just acts that way?  Apparently she didn't get the memo that it is your day and she will be doing what YOU want whether SHE likes it or not!

Are you kidding? Are you overreacting? Uh...NO! It's your wedding, your pictures, your memories, your everything. She can wear feathers in her hair or an entire bird if she wants to on HER wedding day, but this is YOUR wedding day.

Thank you guys soooo much!!

She hasn't bothered to respond to my e-mail and I saw her yesterday briefly... but she never even mentioned it! UGH... I swear to God if that feather shows up I'm kicking her out day of! Her sister my other SIL has been awesome... and even said to me a few months back when we were having dress issues that its my day and my pictures.. so yeah I'm totally standing my ground on this!

She is already married and has been for about 4-5 years now....I think she has forgotten what a nightmare bride she was and how much of a frieken diva she was....and then now when the attention isn't on her shes wanting to show off... I have no more patience!!

Do you guys think I should ask her if she got the e-mail face to face or just let it be until the day before when I guve them the flowers? We are all leaving for the hair salon together in the morning from the hotel so I know she won't "convinently forget" the flower because I'll do a final check before we head out.... ugghhhhhhh

I think you should give her a call to chat about what's going on and everything. Don't ask about the monstrosity that is her hair fedora hat thingamabob until later.

She is HORRIBLE... she is seriously just a selfish horrible person! I have never ever said that about anyone... but there have been many other things that have happened since I posted this.... I have never in my life met a more jealous selfish individual.

Needless to say...I'm IGNORING her... and I've told all of my girls I need their backup the day of. If I see any freakin feather.... its either it or her getting tossed from the bridal party. She has attempted every last bit of everything into making our wedding about her and making sure she stands out... hell I wouldn't out it past her to pretend like she is going into labour during our vows..... yup my biggest fear right there and she WOULD do it... she's that crazy!!

I figured if I called her out on anything.... it'll show that her antics are working and in someway It'll get flipped back on me being a bridezilla... so I'm ignoring her and her craziness... cause guess what?

I'M MARRYING HER BROTHER...... WHETHER SHE LIKES IT OR NOT!!!! hahahhaha
