Which veil

Hi Ladies,

I am pretty new here and I am so confused about which veil to wear with my dress. Currently, I like the elbow and the fingertip length veil.

Our wedding will be super small and will be in Maui, Hawaii.

Any suggestion? Thanks so much, everyone!

I don't know much about veils (yet) but I do like the on you're currently wearing. Is it the elbow veil?

I don’t think it is quite a fingertip veil yet. I think the past-elbow veil (as shown in the pic) is 35 inches and the finger tip is ~42 inches. Sorry for the confusion!

When I tried on the veil in the boutique, I didn’t know any thing about veil at all :)

Now that the wedding is getting closer, I begin to think about which one I should get.

Thanks, ladies!

I love the length of the one you're currently wearing!  I am still on the fence about whether to get a veil at all, but if I did, it would be exactly like the one you have on!  Where did you get it?

I like the one in the photos - the elbow length.  You're petite, and the dress is simple, and that veil doesn't overwhelm you.

Persoanlly, I don't like shorter veils (elbow), they seem to get caught in the wind and in your face more. I love the 'sleek' look and you can usually accomplish this be wearing a fingertip veil.  Since you are having a Muai wedding, one layer might be enough, two layers can get too poofy? (unless this is what you like of course)

When I see you in you picture, Im imagining you without that top layer of the veil you have on, see what I meen?

You look BEAUTIFUL btw.... love your dress!!!

i'm a 3 veil bride so i'm becoming quite the pro ;)

i agree with HMM - a shorter veil can get annoying, especially if you're outside.

2 of my 3 are fingertip veils and they hang nicely and don't get in the way.

i agree with HMM.  a one layer fingertip may be the best, however i do like the look of the shorter one.  but given the ladies input, it may blow all over the place a bit more.  i love your dress!

I like the idea of a one layer fingertip...especially for a beach wedding!  I didn't know if I was going to wear a veil either and then the girl at one of the bridal salons put one on me and it completely changed the look of the dress, for the better!  It completed the look and I felt so much like a bride!

Kristeen - how are you wearing these 3 veils?!

I agree with HolyMoly on the 1 layer. I think a soft, more lavish edged veil will complement the dress/location well.

In that case I think a fingertip length would look great ^^

Thanks very much for all your input, ladies! Much appreciated :)

At first, I also liked the elbow length 1-layer veil. However, after I saw a picture my co-worker with the fingertip veil, I was like..”Wow!”

I also posted another picture without the veil, just with hair flower. What do you think? To veil or not to veil?

Thanks again!

*** JDWedding: I got the veil from Yolanda’s in Waltham (near Boston).

*** HMM: Thanks so much for your kind words!

I think, since your dress is so elegant and simple, the veil would add a nice touch during the cermony and dinner. you can still have the flower on underneath and then remove the veil for the reception.
