Window Treatment Dilemma

This is a bit of a crappy pic, but it shows you that there isn't a lot of room on either side of these windows, because there are walls.  I originally contemplated getting drapes for these windows, but I wanted them always open and there isn't enough wall space to keep them wide enough for the windows to feel larger and bright.

I'm wanting to add some color to this wall, and keep thinking I'd rather do it with window treatments than paint.  I don't want to get rid of the Hunter Douglas blinds, either.  Would it be worthwhile to add a window treatment?

Here is one of the walls.  I went shopping last night and still can't find anything I want ot put on the wall above the couch!  If I did an accent wall for the fireplace, I would probably paint the wall the couch is along, too, because it is open to a few other rooms in the house.  But I was thinking if I do window treatments that I might try to pull some more blue into the room other than the pillows.

I found this kind-of-contemporary valance on Etsy...

And these are some of the offered fabrics that I like...

Thoughts?  Can this be pulled off without making that window wall look skinnier than it is?

LOVE this one!

LOVE this one I photo 3137542-1

I know you don't want to paint, but I think that might achieve the look you want on that wall (sorry!) The windows, mirror and mantle would stand out on the wall, but still look coordinated. And a similar color along the couch wall would look great, too!

But if you are truly paint-fatigued, I think the valances will work just fine. And will be much easier!

LOL Debbie!  I don't know if I'm paint fatigued, but honestly my thought is "how would my green/red/gold Christmas decor look on the mantle with a blue wall?!?!".  The swatch you like is kind of the color I was thinking of painting the two walls if I did paint...like:

LOL Debbie I don photo 3137551-1  BM Blue Haze

LOL Debbie I don photo 3137551-2  BM Fantasy Blue

LOL Debbie I don photo 3137551-3 BM Mystical Blue...maybe too bright...

I LOVE this fabric, hands down... it would add such a pretty pop of color to the room! (You know me, I love color)...

I LOVE this fabric photo 3137581-1

I also love the first two paint colors, they are a little more muted than the 3rd and will look amazing!!  The fireplace and windows would just pop against it!!  It reminds me of my bedroom color, a lot.  :)

And seriously LOL at your Christmas decoration comment- I JUST said this to DH about our front room. It has the perfect bay window for a Christmas tree.  But my color scheme in there is aqua, grey, and yellow with black and white accents/furniture.  I might have to do a pillow swap during the holidays to make it flow better!! :)

I really like how this looks if you were thinking drapes instead of valances:

I really like how photo 3137688-1

Using one panel on each window works really well in this photo that way there's plenty of room to move them to the side.

Oooh, and October throws another cute idea into the mix...I like that, too! Decisions, decisions.

That is funny, but I hear you on the Christmas decor. Maybe you can go for more of a winter wonderland in that room? LOL Blue, white and metallics! :-)

ETA: I like the second paint color, too! We also have a similar color theme in our bedroom.

I love the pic October, because this was my original intention!  But the photo you posted has a few more inches on each side of the windows before the next wall starts - I think in this photo it allows for more room for the rod to extend past the window frame and still have room to "breathe".  I don't want my rods going right up to the wall, and having the curtains touching the walls.  :)

Debbie, I have been sitting here considering that I might have to move all my beautiful red/green/gold stuff to another room!  And buy all new stuff for my mantle...but that sounds kind of fun, and I've already been eyeing one thing for Christmas that would work with a blue wall!
