wineries in napa valley

HI, I was wondering if there were any wineries in the napa valley areas that does tastings?? And what they charge. it seems like a few of them dont do tastings, and we don't really want to pay $75+ for a meal, they add up and we are trying to save money for the wedding

I want to know what the dinner is going to be like. I have gone to a few tastings and didn't like the food a tall. And since Napa valley is expensive, I dont want to spend all that money and hate the food.

I went to a wedding in Napa years ago that I think was at a cullinary school. The food was very good as I recall and the site was amazing. I always wished I could have gotten married there, but it's to far for this SoCal girl.

I have heard amazing things about the culinary school that combes is talking about...you should check it out. But I dno't hitnk places do tastings until you have booked a venue, napa is in high demand =)

I'd recommend Calistoga Ranch:

I also like V. Sattui because of the grounds.  They have two-acres of picnic grounds, with indoor and outdoor venue options for weddings. They are just outside St. Helena across from Dean and Deluca.

I've eaten at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) many times in St. Helena, amazing food, but very noisy.

General winery guide here: http://www.napavalley.com/wineries/

Most wine tasting now in the NapaValley costs between $10 and $35 each.  There was a time when tours and tasting was free.  I'd recommend going during the non-peak season, ie winter and early spring, harvest time is crazy in Napa.

Good luck,

Becky
