I see those all the time and I was thinking about doing that. My stepmom got her dress on ebay and she loved it. I would give it a try as long as you know it is from a reputable seller. I would send them an e mail to see how good they are with communication before you buy though.

OMG that is my gaga dress too!  :)  I love the contrasting detail, my heart stopped the first time I saw it!!! I want to post pics of it too but I'm scared FI will accidentally see!!!

I've been quoted about $1100 bucks around my area which is more than I wanted to pay, and no one has it in their shop as a sample b/c it is an older design (2006 I believe?).  I saw one ebay store that said they could order it for $850 plus shipping... but I have cold feet about it because it's such a majorly important purchase!

I'd say if you're gonna do it then do it fast, I've heard it can take 6 months (and sometimes longer) to have a dress made.  You want leeway time in case it doesn't work out.  Do you have the ebay link?

one of the girls who commented at the bottom of the site said that she knew a few people who ordered from http://www.netbride.com/ and they got it for less and it was good quality...but I dunno...sorry if this discourages anyone but I didn't want anyone getting screwed...

well you mentioned it is refundable... i would say give it a try.  read the comments from other people that have ordered from them and if you think its a good deal then try it.

xglitter have you seen the dress that DaVinci bridal makes (#F8124)?  It is very similar looking and runs around $500 or so.

xglitter have you seen photo 60567-1

Remember that you have not started trying dresses on yet...although you may be in love with the look of this dress on paper, you may not love it on your body type. The first 2 trips to the dress shop for me were about what style truly looked best on my body type.  You stated that you were curvy, so I warn you that you might want to stay away from the extra pleating. That's what I found at least. THe more material = the wider my hips looked.

Sorry if I'm being a downer. I just want you to go into the shopping experience with an open mind of finding your dream dress that makes you look like the best YOU you can be! :)   Make sense?

i am seriously considering it for my Melissa Sweet Liliana dress that retails for over $5,000. They quoted me at 600 for silk tafetta. 400 with their material of choice.. check out their reviews on PW. http://www.projectwedding.com/vendor/show/netbride
