Yoga retreat recap! (w/ Pics)
This past weekend was my ladies weekend yoga retreat in NH. Since my friend P is an instructor we took to the mountains, rented a chalet and got our yoga on.
I can honestly say I've never gotten so far in my practice in one weekend. I've been working on arm balances and inversions and there's never enough time in a class to practice.
We arrived Friday around 5 there were 12 of us and I knew mostly everyone by face. It was nice to get to know everyone on a deeper level since I've known most of them for years through mutual friends. The weekend mostly consisted of yoga, talking, wine, games, hot tubing and reading. It was perfectly relaxing!
I hit my first ever scorpion and couldn't have been more excited!
We planned on morning meditation but we had a masseuse coming and by the time everyone got going we ran out of time. It was so nice to do yoga looking out into the woods filled with snow!
It started to sleet and the power went out! None of us really knew how well water worked so the masseuse had us fill pots and pans with snow to melt for the toilets. Ha she kept calling us "city girls" after that. My massage was so nice and relaxing, a perfect addition to the weekend.
Sunday we had to be out by ten so we woke early for one last practice. Most of us were sore so P gave a quick 30 minute class that focused on stretching. It was perfect for Sunday morning. A few of us headed into the town for some NH goodies and outlet shopping.
All in all it was a great weekend. I'm sure very different from one of those larger yoga retreats but it was a great group of ladies. We're actually talking about doing another trip over the summer!
Oh and only I would injure myself during yoga weekend! Lol. I fell backwards while doing a headstand and whacked my knees on the coffee table. Now I'mm all bruised up! Then while packing the car to head home I slipped on ice and landed pretty badly on my hand. I'm getting xrays tomorrow. Thank goodness that was on the way out not in..I think I'm out of yoga commission for a bit.
