Baby bloat!

When did you all start buying maternity clothing? I was hoping to wait another month or two and see how much I would really be growing, but I guess my pants were on the tight side pre-pregnancy because most of them are just too uncomfortable. I have had to wear a long shirt and leave my pants unbuttoned or wear dresses with tights. The funny thing is it is just bloat because I have actually lost a little weight due to MS. Is it crazy to buy maternity pants at 9 weeks or should I wait as long as possible?

target sells belly bands that i used for quite awhile in between regular pants and maternity pants - you can leave your pants unbuttoned/unzipped with the band and it hides it!

Do whatever makes you comfortable! I used the belly bands for a while, and didn't need maternity jeans until 22 weeks...wen then they were too big but the bands weren't helping anymore.

Like Jackie said, do what makes you comfortable! I bought the Be Band from Target and got annoyed with it because it would ride up and get annoying having to adjust it all the time. Instead I recommend the Bella Band from Ingrid & Isabel - they have a stay-put silicone strip at the bottom so that it doesn't ride.

I didn't buy actual maternity clothes till I was about 15 weeks but I was so relieved when I did! From the very beginning of my pregnancy I was so bloated that my pants were too tight. I wasn't planning on getting any because I didn't realize they were so comfortable but since I first tried some on at the maternity store, that's all I've been wearing since! And when those are dirty I wear yoga pants :) I'd say there's no harm in buying them now if they'd make you more comfortable. They'll definitely be really nice to have later on anyway! You can wait a while on the shirts until you're really showing though.

I think I started wearing maternity pants around 12-13 weeks, but I definitely could have done it sooner. Looking back, I wish I had opted for those comfy pants much earlier than I did! The belly bands really do help you wear your regular pants, so I agree with the other girls that they are a good way to extend your regular wardrobe a bit longer.
