Beta Levels??

My OBGYN called me today saying I needed to come in to have my blood drawn again for betas. I had no idea that I needed this done they never mentioned it.. I had my first appt last Thursday at 4 weeks 5 days pregnant based on my LMP. My bloodwork came back and my HCG was only 563 and they said it was on the lower end but that I am early.. So I am freaking out and so worried and I won't know until tomorrow if my levels have gone up. They said I ha to be over 1,000 to be considered "viable" and we would go from there. They just sounded like something was terribly wrong. :( I could use some insight if anyone else has had betas and what your levels were..

Don't stress.  To be honest, I'm not even sure why they would consider 563 not viable.  Besides, it's really the doubling of the beta that matters most.   I just listened to the voicemail from my nurse again, back when she gave me my first beta result (yes, I kept it.  I was so happy that day).  I had my first blood test 9 days post my 5day embryo transfer.   That was about 3 and a half weeks after my LMP.  "Your Hcg level is 181.  Anything below 5 would be a def negative.  We'll test again a week from now."  7 days later, my hcg went up to 1719.  During that one week wait, I googled every fertility forum for real beta results and they are like snowflakes, so vastly different.  So try not to stress, you don't have a reason to yet and it's just not good for your body and baby.  Take it as it comes.

I wouldn't worry too much! As long as they double thats all that matters. I remember from a beta caldendar I looked up at 4 weeks they are suppose to be like 5-500. So I think you are fine! We will keep our fx!

I called today before they closed because I hadn't heard anything, and they told me the results weren't in yet. So hopefully I will know more by tomorrow. On a positive note, morning sickness has kicked in today so I feel like that's a really good sign!! Because up until now I haven't felt pregnant at all which worried me more! So yay for feeling nauseous all day!! :)

is it normal to do bloodwork when you first find out?  i just did a pregnancy test and when it came back positive, they said "see you at 8 weeks".

Drs office called back this morning and they said my numbers have more than doubled and everything looks good :) I was so relieved to hear that!!! And Haleigh I went super early before 5 weeks and they knew I had just found out and still had me come in. I'm sure every doctors office is different. But my first appt was pretty uneventful so by 8 weeks they may do an ultrasound and everything :) I have my first ultrasound at 9 weeks!

My current and previous OBs make first appts only at 8 weeks.  I only knew my betas bc my RE tested for it.

Yeah idk why they felt the need to stress me out either!! Honestly they didn't reassure me or say anything along the lines of, "oh you're probably fine we just want to be sure" but I'm glad I know at least what's going on.. They also are pressuring me to get all this genetic testing done by a specialist too which worries me more. I do have genetic disorders in my family but the doctor basically freaked out when I told her about it as if shed never heard of anyone with a family history of anything. I don't need added stress right now :( okay rant over lol
