Free breast pump! and a Q on rental vs purchase
I've recently been lurking on the babycenter boards and found some info on free breast pumps provided by some insurance companies through the new Affordable Care Act. So I called my insurance (UHC) and confirmed that breast pumps are 100% covered. You'd have to go through one of their network suppliers and you will need a doctor's prescription, which should all be done closer to your due date, within 30 days. So try to call your insurance and seeif you are covered!
The new policy says it will cover the purchase of a double electric breast pump or the cost of a hospital grade rental. Is there a significant difference in quality between the two? My work also offers hospital grade breast pumps but I still need something during my maternity leave so I'm debating whether I should rent or buy. Which would you do?
