More Bloodwork

Well apparently whatever is this low platelett issue is, isn't going to go away.  My numbers dropped again.  The nurse showed me my numbers, I was at like 140 (I can't remember when that blood was drawn) and then for my glucose test they came back 120 and then Tuesday they came back as 105.  My "medical team" aka the 4 registered nurses in my family, said that they won't due much for me unless my numbers get around 50 which if I keep falling like this every 2 weeks I can see happening and it apparently affects like 5% of pregnant women or something.  I need to do some research on it today.

Oh no :-( I really hope they can either figure things out or that it stops falling on its own. And I definitely hope you at least have the option of the epi! {{{Sending happy vibes}}}

I finally called the midwife yesterday and was like, ok what's up with this haha.  She said that if my numbers fall below 100 they will send me to a hemotologist and discuss putting me on a steroid, which they said they don't really like to do.  But she said the "important" number during delivery is 80.  They don't want me below that when I deliver or else an epidural and a c-section (if one would be needed) are out of the question.  But she said that the baby is perfectly fine and that this issue only really affects me during delivery.  She goes "so just have a talk with the baby, tell him/her to close it's eyes, go head first towards the light, and make sure nothing is wrapped around it's neck." haha
