Preggo and baby books purchased!

Hi ladies,

I finally purchased a few books after reading some past threads and talking to some mom friends.  Just wanted to share and maybe get some more suggestions or thoughts on other books.

These I bought as e-books bc I just thought I would be the only one to read them and really didn't feel like having them around the house after I was preggo.  Plus, I think they read more like books rather than a reference book.

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth

Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy

Happiest Baby on the Block

These I purchased the paperbacks bc they were heavy reference books that you don't read straight through but instead would rely on the table of contents or indices.  Plus DH would want access to these books since these are geared more towards the topic to caring for you child rather than the pregnancy experience (I own a Nook and he a Kindle).

Dr. Sears The Baby Book

Caring for Your Baby and Young Child

Baby Bargains

And finally these are books I borrowed from various sources.  I kinda didn't think they were worth the purchase.

What to Expect When Expecting

Belly Laughs

Hope this helps and would love to hear other's opinions/suggestions!

I just signed up for a bunch of news letter from baby sites. I get week by week updates (pretty much as the books). I did not like any of the pregnancy books that much. I did get a vaccine book though. I also bought the "Happiest baby on the Block" DVD ;) Don't have time to read the book.

Jackieg I am so happy to her updates from you :} I actually went back to the very beginning of the baby boards (to save some cool threads I have missed over the years) and got to know your journey. It is so exciting to hear that everything is going good with your current pregnancy :)) Just thought I would let you know that you have a lurking cheerleader lol...

Well, I got the ebook so not really.  It's fine.  I guess I'll give it to my sister.  I was correct to think it was a book I don't need lying around the house.  And actually, the book seems to be from my insurance company, not really my OB.  Bizarre.

it's a good read, been readding it on the train.  The Baby bargains book was also a great recommendation!  Though it still hasn't helped me with my stroller issue, it's been pretty useful with most other things.

I love Baby Bargains....found our bedding on a site they recommended.

Did you ask WMForever about her UppaBaby? They moved out of the city a while ago, and I don't think she works anymore...just FYI...so don't know about the commuting/city advice....

Yeah I saw her updates on FB. I'll email her soon. I wanted to give the strollers a test drive first. It's funny though. Before baby bargains, I kinda knew it would be a toss up bw Uppababy vista and Citi mini. And when I read the book, those two were their top chooses for urban moms. I'm going to test drive w dh and will keep posted.
