I've flagged this for our tech team. If you could get a screen shot of what showed up and what program you are using to get on to PW, that would help the team. : )
i never have a problem but i log in through my work's servers or on my phone.
I work in online advertising and sites like this probably do not traffic or control their own ads. It's very possible that the malware is coming from the ads themselves being booked through another trafficking company. Ads like this can be switched out by the ad developer on the back end and cause damage. We screen these type of things on a daily bases in my job. Unless the site can monitor and control the ads, then malware and viruses can slip through.
I haven't gotten a warning in a long time. Sometimes the warnings can come because your browser is set to a high security to prevent cookies (which tracks your interests and tells the server what ads you'd be interested in). So check those settings and see if that's the issue. You may have to allow cookies to get it to go away, but that's completely up to your discretion.
Martine, what browser are you using when you get the virus detection alert? Also, can you post or send me a link to the page you're on when you get the warning? If you can get a screen shot, that would be great, too. Thanks!
OK so Im now using my husbands laptop, on IE but no virus popup? Could it be my job's network?
If at all possible, run a virus scan on the computer you're using when you get the warning. There may be something there that could be cleared out and keep you from getting the warning again.
I am now on my work computer but working from home - no virus popup.
Ill try to log into to PW at the office on Monday, it may be something with my works network.
I was finally able to take a screen shot of the virus error message. This happen to me last week.
